Finally was able to latch my soft top on JKU. It is new (3 weeks old) and was able to stretch somewhat in the sun.
Thanks a ton.
Trick i learned after struggling for an hour trying to get the soft top latched on the first night.
1. hook the latch on the fronts but do not clamp down
2. hook the rear corner soft top flaps into the grooves
3. clamp down the latches in the front
It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.
Siiiiiick. This is my Jeep in 2 weeks. Black 2013 Rubi with BC Hardtop and Fenders and 285/70/17's DTs with RR wheels. Thanks for posting this pic!
Awesome, and congrats on the '13 Rubi! Definitely let me know when you get the wheels/tires mounted and post pics...I'd love to see what it would like like with a BC top. You'll love the combo, I got 'em installed two days ago and can't take my eyes off them. My 3.21 gears absolutely blow, though. Did you get a soft top too, or just the BC hard top? I got both tops but don't think I'll ever use the hard top again (mine isn't BC)....it's just too much P.I.T.A. to install without a hoist. I'm hoping to get the first topless pics today
Oh wow thanks for the link. Looks awesome! Hardtop only here. Yah I went back and forth on the 3.73 vs. 4.10 thing and decided to stick with the 3.73s. It's mostly gonna be a DD and I don't live in a high altitude area so I think that's the ideal ratio. I'll def post pics when I pick it up. Tires and wheels are being shipped direct to the dealer so I won't even see the Jeep with the stockers on it.
I actually like those wheels, especially over the horrid new 2013 ones I seen lately.
At first I didn't mind the new Rubi wheels on a black Jeep. But as it came closer for me to get my 2013, I really started to dislike the stock wheels. So the deale called me last week that my Jeep would be here in a couple of days. I asked if he had these wheels in stock, and the rest is history. Went to the dealership, new wheels on the Jeep, saw another with the stock wheels and never looked back...
I'm assuming you mean cans of plastidip, so about 13. I also used one can of liquid plastidip to roll the hood with. I don't care how good you are, spraying it just looks bad on the hood, regardless if it's in upright position. My rig is a 2012 and black underneath the plastidip. When I get the hard top, I'll actually rhinoline that since a rack will go on above it.
