slick roads, YJ took a dunk

Slick roads around here this morning. Local newspaper took this photo. Snorkel wouldn't have helped on this one.

Yeah...I'd venture to guess that around here in Ohio where snow is a pretty common occurrence, roughly 80% of the drivers cannot drive on slick roads.

I was driving on a complete sheet of ice earlier, driving 5 under... dipshit goes flying past me. Then pulls over and parks to pick someone up/drop someone off and takes up half the lane. Ugh. Of course these kinds of idiots don't realize that they are the ones who cause the majority of accidents during winter weather...at least not until they're involved in one and cited for it.

A guy I work with went home Friday in the snow (remember, we don't usually get much here in Georgia). He sat around for about 30 minutes and decided he wanted to go get a haircut. Well, after spinning off the road, he ended up with an $1800.00 haircut (which he didn't actually get that day).

Or on wet roads, or heck, even dry roads for that fact.

I wouldn't argue that fact at all. But here's an interesting point: if you took 100,000 drivers and put them in Ohio State's little stadium, and then said "raise your hand if you are an above average driver" - over 80% would raise their hands. Probably over 90% would consider themselves above average!

its always humiliating to run off the road in a 4x4, but ice is a tricky bastard.
