Our group stayed in a village called Täsch which is about 6km from Zermatt. Zermatt is a very nice tourist village at the base of the mountains. We didn't get there in time to do any snowboarding or skiing on Saturday but we spent all day Sunday up on the mountain.

Thanks guys. I would highly encourage anyone with the opportunity to go at least once. If you don't ski or snowboard there is plenty to do in Zermatt. Lots of pubs and clubs there too.

That is because in Zermatt (the village at the base) combustion engines are not allowed. That's right. No cars or trucks. There are some electric taxis and a couple of electric buses but that is it. The only way in is by train(electric too).
