Snowboarding in the Swiss Alps.

Well here are the pics I promised some of you.

Our group stayed in a village called Täsch which is about 6km from Zermatt. Zermatt is a very nice tourist village at the base of the mountains. We didn't get there in time to do any snowboarding or skiing on Saturday but we spent all day Sunday up on the mountain.

Visp train station with the Swiss Alps in the background.

Me in same pic.

From the train station in Täsch.

The village of Täsch.

The purest and best tasting water I have ever drank.

A lit cross on the hill next to our hotel.

A bunch of pics up on the mountain.

This is looking straight down from our gondola.

Oh, it was truly an amazing sight up there. I'm uploading a panorama video right now from up on the slopes. It is mountains in every direction. Breathtaking. I'll post it here when it's done.

Thanks guys. I would highly encourage anyone with the opportunity to go at least once. If you don't ski or snowboard there is plenty to do in Zermatt. Lots of pubs and clubs there too.

That is because in Zermatt (the village at the base) combustion engines are not allowed. That's right. No cars or trucks. There are some electric taxis and a couple of electric buses but that is it. The only way in is by train(electric too).

I'll second that!
The best mountains over here on the east coast are the Vermont mountains or Adirondacks for real snow.
