Thumbs up Took some pics of my 'Other' ride...

... sorry to disappoint you if you were planning on seeing pics of my wife.

Anyway - I wish I knew how to take those really good magazine quality pics that some people have the knack for. Here's what I came up with.

Yeah, I know I need to upgrade my brakes next:

Anyone good at photography (RatherBinMexico?) got some tips for better pics?

Once again, awesome machine 05! Being a Mustang man like my Stepdad, makes me itch all the more for one. I know my Stepdad would like your car since he has a 67 fastback! Thanks for sharing the pics.

Look at that hood shine! Those fastbacks are simply iconic in the Mustang world. I love his redline tires.

are you using a DSLR or a point and shoot?
First off, kickass car, I love it. Did you edit those pics at all? You can mess with the saturation and brightness, I use Gimp, it's free.
Here's an example:

You already have some great background shots, they are all "clean".
My best advice is to take shots that you are not comfortable with. Try not to take shots from a human eye level. You should see me taking pictures, I look like an idiot. I lie on the ground, hold the camera way over my head and snap away. But those turn out to be some of my best shots. Don't be afraid to experiment with your shots, for every good picture I have, I have 10 bad shots.

That's impressive! I'll have to look into that Gimp because, well, free is about all that's in my budget right now.

The camera I used is my Dad's new DSLR. It's his first DSLR, and I wanted to try it out. I edited the pics w/ some stuff he had on his Mac (exposure, etc), as I was trying to improve on the base pics.

Thanks for the compliment on my car. Normally I'm pretty humble, but I'm not going to try to hide how much I love that car too.

A good way to improve your photos...when you're photographing an object and you wanna blur out the background somewhat, lower your f-stop setting/aperture. The lower the number, the less of the object will be in focus. Raise your f-stop to where the entire car is in focus and the background is blurred out. That REALLY improves a photo...also always keep in mind what's in the background. If there's a shadow, house, sign, etc in the background that doesn't belong...it can TOTALLY blow a great picture.

And always play with your angles... my buddy recommends striving for the angle that nobody else has considered doing. For instance...if everybody is standing at eye level snapping shots, lay down on your stomach and get a shot looking at the vehicle from a lower viewpoint. He's the co-admin on my website and also a damn good photographer. Whenever we meet up on trips, he always walks us through different methods of photography to help us learn. I'm far from experienced, but slowly beginning to improve...

Nice...FORD...btw My dad's got an 03' Mach 1...and I love it.

Good luck! The key is to take LOTS of pics and just keep adjusting your settings...my last trip I think I took between 300-500 pics. Less than 100 came out at all...and I probably had around 10-20 stunners. lol

Those are nice shots and a nice car.

Shiny red cars are the best for photos (there's a reason show cars are rarely black).

If I were to make any suggestions, it would be to take a lot of photos and experiment. Digital is freakin' cool for that. Some of us learned photography with film, and you had to wait to get the pictures back, forgot what you had done, couldn't afford to just experiment. Blah blah blah.

I'd also suggest altering the point-of-view. Lie down on your stomach. Get up on a ladder. And take photos in the "magic hour" - just before sundown (or real early, but that's rough).

On this one, the car is out of focus. You pulled the focus to the sign, and lost it a bit on the car.
