From a few weeks ago:

northern kingfish:

weakfish:

got bait?

taste of what was also in that bait pod:

They were calling for 2-4s that day. I love it when they're wrong:

Unfortunately I don't have any pics but I hit a local jetty to cap off the weekend. The day before, I was nailing snapper blues on small metals out front. Figured the jetty could hold some bigger fish and it did. Fished for about 2 hrs and ended up with 8 blues to 6 pounds and a schoolie 22" striped bass. All fish were released to fight another day.

Only at the beach a few hours today, but the bite was hot (too much for three rods). Had several lines snap & a reel spooled. Reds were in the surf, but I didn't reel any in

Took a short vacation with my wife to Costa Rica last week. We did a 1/2 day of inshore fishing and had a blast.

Went out togging twice this past week. Went south the first time and caught our limit and over a dozen shorts each. Went north yesterday and only got 6 keepers and about 5 shorts total but the keepers were substantially bigger, including a 12 pound trophy. 10 miles out in NJ in Jan in a small center console... And here I was thinking I was crazy for dropping the top in the Wrangler in the winter lol.

Here's a few from last year.

This is me and my boss (I'm holding it by the mouth) with a Springer I took last year on our friends money boat on the Willamette (Columbia River SUCKED last year!!!!).

Here's me on the Kasilof River outside of Kenai last year. No fish, we knew it would be nothing more than a chance to relax with a beer though. Cool thing is, this was a little after 10:30 at night.

So this is a funny story! We get to Alaska and stop at Sportsmans Warehouse, and most of the rivers are shut down because the King run is late. No big deal, lots of work to do, and some friends have a Halibut trip planned for us, my boss and I, and the weather is amazing, so continue on. On the Halibut trip, we got a deal, its a friend of a friend, so fill the boat with fuel, we can fish all day. We fill it up and on the way out of the harbor in Seward, every warning bell goes off, turns out the alternator is toast. No alternator in Seward, time to move on, which brings us to this picture. That's me, in Alaska (Spirit Lake outside of Kenai again), in a 14' aluminum boat, fishing for Trout and Kokanee, in the rain (only time it rained the whole trip)! What makes it funny is I live in the Pacific NW, I can drive less than twenty minutes from my house, and fish in a 14' aluminum boat, for Trout and Kokanee, in the rain! LOL!

Yeah, yeah, worst day fishing, best day working...........I just always enjoy a good laugh at blatant irony!

It's the off season in my neck of the woods and since the beaches are still torn up, I took the time to put some new boat setups together. The green/yellow rod, the Fish A-Tractor is a Seeker GTS70L blank with a Van Staal 150 reel. The other, Big Red, is a Seeker GTS 70M with a Zee Baas 22 reel with dual pickup. The conventional is a Seeker Super TOGGER build with a Release SG reel. I'm having one more 7' spinner built for my Accurate SR-12 and I'll be good and ready for the season
