k so i sent my jeep into the transmission shop (aamco large company) after three weeks i got it back (2 weeks longer than quoted) first thing i noticed was this.
this is how i sent it there
nice and clean. had actually been working on the paint (flat black) 2 days prior.
this is how i got it back
on top of all that i gave it to them with half a tank. got it back with 4 blocks worth of gas in it (ran out on the way to the gas station). they also somehow managed to lose the bumpstop to my spare carrier and drove it around with it bouncing around and bent the crap out of the crossmember.
when i talked to the owner he said he would wash it but didnt care that the mud would not come out of the paint. he said that i had to buy the bumpstop and bring it to him with a receipt and then he would reimburse me for it....
basically what im asking is what would you guys do in my position? seems that most ppls idea is to sue them for it. ive left a msg with the corporate office and contacted an attorney and im just waiting on calls back.
nothing yet. lawyer has put me on the back burner i think. i did speak with corporate and pretty much what they told me is that shop is a private franchise and they cant make them do anything. all they can do is suggest they pay me. if the owner wont agree i have to take them to court and their insurance will take care of that.
i dont know if that means they will just pay me or they will pay for the lawyer.
welp ive pretty much dropped the issue.....i put in a complaint with bbb and on google. after i talked to a few lawyers they all said since i would be sueing them for less than 10k it would be civil court and chances are that even if i won it wouldnt be worth all the trouble. i fixed my own paint got another shop to cover the warranty on it so its not an issue. moral of the story......check out your jeep really good before you pay the shop for the work!!!
