What the heck...

is this thing?

Saw it in Key West, FL over the weekend.

Not even sure where to begin. Let's just say the interior looks like you would expect it to.

Yeah, a little. He's tagged as part of the Hurricane Recovery Team for Key West. It looks like he made a self contained Wrangler camper. Has a bunk across the overhang section. Plus a lot of other improvements, that are hard to fathom, but probably serve a purpose for HRT. Only has one seat in it, and the way it's done, I couldn't tell if the roll cage was intact.

Oh, yeah. The soft-top has been bonded to the home-built.

If he has some 33" MT/R's with AEV grey Pintler's it'd look awesome!

Like survivalist-esque.

It's one of the better done customs you'll see in Key West. There are some WEIRD vehicles down there!!

Skylight in the roof. 3 windows in the back. Whole rear was done with spray foam. I really liked the re-use of the rear tire carrier. Look close at the tire on the front.

Nah. He's part of the Hurricane Response Team.

When a hurricane comes to the Keys, they have mandatory evacuations. Head north and get out of the way.. He's authorized to return early and check for damage, before the general populace is allowed to come in.

I'm guessing he is self-contained for the few days between.

If only he didn't look so goofy.

But, in those conditions, a trailer would be bad. Too hard to handle.
