Right smack dab in the middle! Lebanon is 30 minutes from the Lake of the Ozarks, two hours from STL and two hours from Taneycomo/Table Rock..

Thanks, you've got some dandy lunkers there too.. Here's a few older ones:

Cheers!!

Never did have any luck on big fish in the big piney. I did catch a nice sized spotted gar though.

Yeah, St Robert is right up the road from me.. I grew up with the guy who runs/owns Lindsay Chrysler Dodge, Tyson Lindsay. Even though I am a competitor we remain friends, and if my wife's Jeep needs anything that my guys can't do, I take it to him.

Big Piney is right up there with the Meramec in terms of legendary Smallie fishing! I used to frequent the Ozark Anglers Forum, there's quite a few expert anglers over there who routinely clean up on the smallies in that area. I don't get up that way much, like a friend said once: "It's hard for me to drive past good known water to get to other good unknown water!" lol I do fish the Current when I can, that chunky lil brown I posted above was caught there.. I've never laid into a real pig up there though, they get big!

You ever make it down this way to LOZ or the Gasconade, Osage Fork or Niangua?

I never have fished the Gasconade or anything past that towards Lebanon primarily because I don't know too many people so I am not familiar where to go fish. I have fished LOZ a few times but nothing great came of it. Dont know where Osage fork or Niangua are either. I mainly stick to my good trout spots that I have managed to find. So I am guessing you run a dealership?

lol, sometimes I think I do.. But no, I'm simply a salesman..

The Niangua runs into the Lake of the Ozarks and the Osage Fork runs into the Gasonade at about the 132 mile marker in I-44.. awesome smallie fishin up there where the water is so skinny!

If you're into trout then you fish the Current, eh?

The Current River, starts up near Salem Mo (Montauk State Park, a trout park) and flows down around past Emminence then on down through the BootHeel...

Well definitely get over on the Current and check it out, the fishin is legendary!! Huge brown trout stalking the boulder pools, an X-rap or a big ass streamer on a 7 weight will bring em up... but be quiet! They spook easy...

Oh, and if you feel like checkin the Niangua (and Bennett Springs State Park) out, gimme a holler and come on down for the winter catch and release season, it's a hoot!

Ya, Im used to having to sneak around especially at the areas I fish. Half the time I feel like a freaking cat sneaking through the grass lol. I have been wanting to hit up Bennett springs but I heard that sometimes its like fishing shoulder to shoulder.
