We acquired Mocha in December, my husband went hunting in Montana and brought him home. He was the only puppy in the litter, (not really a litter since it was only him). He went to a couple that had 3 acres, he had no other socialization with other dogs, he had no real socialization with people other that the owners and their Granddaughter.

He spent all his time running around on 3 acres, playing in the creek and he stayed outside at night. He was allowed in the house for limited times and had a rug he was taught to lie on. They taught him the basics, sit, stay, come and they house trained him.

I have 3 other Labs, he's allowed inside, he is crate trained, and he gets tons of attention. However, the trip home with Mike for 3 days in the truck and hotels caused him to be severely attached. He has the worse separation anxiety I have ever seen in a dog. Even the other dogs don't help alleviate it.

He's also a 2 year old Choc. Lab and that equals tons of energy. The destruction is a mix of things, I've been very cautious to keep the yard free of things he can destroy, unfortunately that isn't possible 100% of the time. I've given him some toys & chews to help, some days it does and others it doesn't.

He's a work in progress, I feel he came to us because I will stick it out and not just get rid of him due to his issues. There's a reason I have 3 good dogs, so I can have the patience for 1 bad one

My favorite lab wisdom after 3 of them. "18 months of hell for the perfect dog!"
All three Pro Plan dogs and long livers. I just hope I can be as good a person as my Lab thinks I am.

I've had 6 Labs, Mocha is the 6th so maybe that's an unlucky number for me, lol.

Truth is he is a sweetheart, very smart..too smart actually and I know he's much better off with us. My husband plans on training him for duck hunting and with just the amount he's worked with him so far it looks as though he is a natural and loves it.

Mike has been extremely busy the past couple weeks and hasn't had the time to spend with him. He is smart and realizes this so he's causing trouble to get the attention. I have tomorrow off so I plan on taking him for a run with me, that should make him happy......for a day

Out of 4 Labs, Mocha is the destructive one. This is just one of many disasters I've come home to in the past month.

There really is a guardian angel on his shoulder, otherwise I would have killed him by now.

Now you can poly fill your speakers! He was just trying to help you....

When was the last time you were there? Did you do any trails? I wanna check and see if dogs are allowed. I know I've seen some there before

Looks like they are allowed as long as they are on a leash that is no longer than 6 ft! now I'm wondering how much water is on the trails? Have you been to the "Punch Bowl"? That is usually filled with water. I'd love to go on trails with Cabela :P

Carabiners attached to grab handles with 550 cord, hooked onto Newt's harness. Shortened it so she can't lean out too far. She's about 15 lbs so might not work with bigger dogs.

Cairn Terrier? I had one as a kid, they are wonderful dogs. Ours wasn't scared of anything but water.

Yea, around $5-$6. She can go to each side and it keeps her out of the front seat when the doors are off.

Yes, and I had one when I was a kid too. Newt is scared of flies, of all things! Very pretty Kitty!
