Your Wheeling Videos

I haven't seen a dedicated video thread, and with everyone taking videos, figured there should be one. I saw the favorite YouTube videos one, but why not just everyone's local trails. May become a good source for people looking for trails thy want to know how difficult a certain trail is.

I effing hate sand and mud! I've been stuck in sand, and can imagine mud being like sand, but wet and heavy! No thanks! Lol
Get a gopro! The price is scary, but they're awesome. Get the black edition, it's a little more, but worth it!

Not really a "wheeling" video per se, but I was wheeling when many of these pics were taken! Hope you enjoy, and please provide feedback. thanks.

Death Valley National Park - Echo Canyon

A great 22 mile through 4x4 route in Death Valley National Park. Considered one of the top 5 most difficult trials in the park for the short waterfall rock crawl required. The Inyo mine along the route is worth spending some time exploring.

That seriously sucks, man. What were the circumstances(what happened) of that crash? Where's the replacement? Everyone ok?

I don't go as hard as you guys..

But I do get a chance to take some shallow stream crossings..

Cherokee, North Carolina on Vimeo

Again wanted to thank the Cherokee Nation for allowing us to take this stream crossing.

Oh btw.. I had a 12 min video ready from when we took the New River Gorge Trail.. but after attempting to upload to vimeo.. First it said it was to large and second when attempting to edit it.. all was lost.. even if it was just the first 12 mins.. might have to set up and do it again.

Drop-Off - A fun southern Nevada trail

West of Las Vegas is the US Forest Service managed Spring Mountain National Recreation Area. Charleston Peak is almost 12,000 feet tall, and the change from the desert valley to alpine climate is stunning. One of the tougher trails in southern Nevada nobody seems to know about.

Off Pavement suggested that I add my recently published Mojave Road video to this thread, so here it is. At the same time, I'll add a couple other good ones.

(Edit: For some reason the automatic embedding of YouTube links screws up the formatting of this post, when I put them all in the same post, so I'll try putting them in separate posts.)

Mojave Road
There's nothing difficult about this run, but there's just so much beauty and history to experience out there deep in the middle of the desert. I highly recommend this trip for all SoCal wheelers/campers who haven't done it. There are lots of intersections and plenty of opportunities to get lost, so go with someone who knows the way, or find a GPS track and do plenty of research. Bring extra gasoline and extra of anything you or your Jeep might need. At times you'll be as much as 70-80 miles away from any services.

Rubicon Trail
This is another trail IMO that any California rock crawler should have on their bucket list. Several sources rate this trail 10 out of 10 in difficulty, but there are certainly more difficult trails. I would say you'd need a minimum of 33" tires and one locker, but I would recommend 35" tires and two lockers. Some mental stamina is needed because the trail is difficult for so long, and requires constant focus. Bring tools and extra parts, because there's a good chance someone in your group will need it.

John Bull Trail
This is a fun, difficult trail, sort of a very short version of the Rubicon Trail, with the same tire/locker recommendations. Probably should also be on the bucket list of SoCal rock crawlers.
