Blown Transmission 120 miles south of the border - Baja California

Had to hike out, caught rides back to the USA - coordinated a "help" plan, then the trailer (belonging to Off-Road.com's Tim Sanchez) blew a tire driving down the Observatory Road near Rancho Meling and Highway 1. Talk about WORST STUCK!

Moving the Ford Ranger onto Tim Sanchez's trailer

It doesn't get more warped than this!

We paid these locals with sodas and beers to cut the steel belts from the trailer axle so that we could mount the spare and return to the USA.

Damn son-in-law...

He was the one that said it wasn't deep. So he was also the one to get out and winch the poor baby out!

I had a buddy down in carolla nc in a toyota Tacoma, newer one. And he was completely stuck trying to get of the beach and I hopped in and did the back and fourth momentium thing and kept turning the tires and what do you know, he was buying me dinner at the local hooters thanking me like crazy because he was about to have a anxiety attack because he was stuck. I'm 5'7, 175. He was 6'5 345. Yeah, he was the biggest loser!!! Lol

Got stuck in the sand between the road and the shoreline on South Padre Island last April. You can't see it here, but we were up to the "belly" in the sand; couldn't move at all.

A couple of guys in a truck stopped to help, but didn't have a long enough chain (we were 100' + off the road). Had to call a tow truck, to pull us out with a winch.

she hasn't been stuck with the 36's on yet but the wife did get a good one the last time it went out on 33's... 45 minutes, 3 vehicles tried pulling... 2 of em tried winchin... and a friend of mine finally got it out, rear axle was hung up on a stump

the xj got stuck trying to pull, then ran his battery down with the winch trying to get either of them to move

bronco tried to pull then winch

but my friend monkey got it out after a few tugs and pulling a wheelie, it was pretty impressive

First time I got stuck.

Used my grandfather's Ram 3500 to pull her out.

I wish i had taken pics that day, but i was too damn P.O to do so. It was my first and only time ever getting stuck. I went to the country side of Michigan, about 2 hours up north, to some random ATV area, not even a legit park, and i was just cruising around there in 2WD. By the way, this is when i was still very new to wheelin'. I approached a rut that looked about 2 feet deep, and was about 14 feet wide. I had no idea what ruts where, so please, have mercy. I put it in 4HI and started to gain momentem into the rut. I was going through it like a champ until finally the front diff then the rear diff got caught up on the center of the rut, and my tires where free floating. My front bumper was underwater, i couldnt really get out of the jeep. I had no idea what to do. Oh, wanna hear something sad? I was alone. It was 90+ degress that day, and i was bogged down with the jeep just sitting there, the jeep disapointed at me that i even attempted to go through such a deep rut. I spent some serous alonr time with her there. It was so deep, i could lay down under my tires under the water comfortably. Finally got someone to help me out. This post is taking too long, so i will shorten it up by saying the day ended off with him trying to pull me out for 6 hours straight, the tow strap flying back hitting my rear spare (you are probably wondering how scaring that sounded being in the drivers seat),(wanna see a pic?) finally getting me out, giving him 60$, a big hug and a lunch on me. Since that day i learned many things from REAL WORLD experince: Never wheel alone, never wheel when temps are past 90+ degress, always keep more than one tow strap, never go through a rut that you dont know the depth of unless someone has a wench, always carry food and water (sounds drastic but i almost dehydrated there), rip out your stock carpets, dont floor the car when your stuck, and always ALWAYS take pictures. I never got too detailed, just know that when your bogged down in the middle of the forest with no help in sight for 8 hours, no AC working, no food or water, bullfrogs jumping all over your jeep and its just you and your jeep left out in the wild stuck, helpless and clueless, it has life changing effects. Oh, one more thing, did i mention this all happend when i had less then 3000 miles on her? You can imagine what kind of bond Her and i have now. Thanks for reading if you had the time to lol.

First Time Stuck

Well, here's my worst and only time stuck... she's still new...
Driving around the creek on my folks' property and the third time crawling out of the water finally did it. Got her high-centered... took six guys, a hand-winch, a good length of chain and a tree to get her out.

It didn't look that deep when I drove in.

No real harm done except for a good clean out afterwards.

Did end up overloading the thermo fan though cause it was acting like a prop before I winched out..

Northern Michigan Quick-Sand

The night before Thanksgiving in 2007.... After work joyride alone... What I thought was a little mud ended up being a pond sized mud-hole/Quicksand covered with field grass. My 1980 CJ7 broke right through, and I was stuck!

After hiking out 2 miles I managed to hitchhike home where my grand Cherokee was... Then called my cousin and posted on NW4x4.com for help.

2 large wranglers and a truck at night during the years first snow was not getting much done. Had to do it all in the dark as our location was illegal for off-road vehicles and my cousin & the stranger that came to help had already been caught there once before.

Then things got worse as the 80k lb tow strap snapped and the clevis whipped straight onto my back, knocking me out... 1 inch to the right and it probably would have broken my spine :-/ I got lucky....

It is now 1am, my CJ has sank another foot deeper, and my wife and I are supposed to start our 4 hr drive to Detroit at 0500 for the Thanksgiving Lions/Packers game. If we don't get this thing out soon it will sink all the way within 12 hrs and if caught, the DNR will fine us and permanently confiscate my Jeep :-(

At 2am we finally managed to pull it forward via 2 sets of winches and a large tree as an anchor..... Drove her home in time for a 2 hr nap before taking the Grand Cherokee to Detroit.... Needless to say, the wife was not very happy about that night. But seeing Brett Favre play later that day made up for it

Hosed her off inside and put the day after thanksgiving and to my surprise, nothing was torqued, bent or broken!!

Same with me! When i was bogged, there were HUNDREDs of baby and adult bull frogs jumping around my tires and bumpers. Needless to say, it was a real mess when the tires began to spin..
