Just watched Colin. Zombies from the perspective of the zombie. #1 there is 5 minutes of dialogue in a 2 hour film, the rest is zombie groans, #2 as soon as he ate someones face, sympathy over, someone should have shot his head off. #3 I used fast forward for 1hr and 50 minutes of film just to see what happened. Take home message. It sucks to be a zombie, it sucks to be eaten by a zombie thus kill all zombies for they make more.

I just had a thought...and yes it was quite painful. I was reading another thread about "what's wrong with chrome?". I've got the answer but the answer is better explained here. Zombies love shiny things so chrome on a jeep is like a giant fishing lure to zombies! Ta da! Another cosmic question answered

was reading the news, and stumbled upon this article. Was a bit hesitant considering the source, but was actually pretty decent. Real useful info for Zombie weapons...

Aight guys. I turn 21 soon and I'm asking for a hand gun since I can't carry till 21 in Texas. Don't know alot about handguns. So give me some realistic options for zombie ambien/personal protection/ shot tin of fun at the firing range. I really liked the sound of the xdm 40. But aren't 40 rounds alot more expensive than 9mm?

Best advice I can give you is to read about them and shoot different types to see what you like. Safety is always first, you can't defend yourself or loved ones if you harm them with it. Also, the biggest hand cannon does you no good if you can't hit what you aim at. You have to be comfortable shooting the gun, not showing it off. Everything else is up to preference and application. Large caliber and high capacity are not going to be a great choice for concealed carry or cheap plinkers at the range. These are the dilemmas that always justify buying another gun.... I could write a book here easily. Just be glad you're getting one, and try to go easy on their wallet.
P.S. You should ask for a gift subscription to an NRA magazine. It will help you a lot. A year membership and subscription to a mag of your choice is around $20.

This is a really good start!

You have to ask yourself a couple of questions to start with, is this going to be for concealed carry? Personal defense? Plinking? Just going to the range? Those questions can help determine the size of the frame of the gun you chose.
Next question is how comfortable are you with shooting? How much experience do you have? How much time do you have to practice? How much money do you have to spend on ammo to practice? If your brand new and don't have much time or money to spend at the range, I recommend a good revolver. With a spin shooter you are always going to have something happen when u pull the trigger, even if u happen to have a bad round (fairly rare these days) just pull the trigger again and u get a new round, no have to clear the bad round or jam.
There is a TON of material out there, go read gun magazines and books, don't go onto a gun forum and ask or u will get tons of info from tons of people whom may or may not actually know what they are talking about.

Thanks to both of you. I've had a decent amount of practice with my dads .38 special revolver. And my big brother has a .40 not sure what kind. I own a couple shottys and a .22 rifle. So I'm not brand new to shooting just don't know anything about handguns. Question, what's plinking.
Btw this will be home protection hog hunting side arm and gun range but not concealed carry. Im 2 hot headed for that.

Plinking is general target practice at the range where you go through a lot of rounds. Think .22 or .223.
With the extra info you provided, I would recommend a .357 mag revolver, 6 inch barrel. This should fit your needs nicely. Great for home protection, deer, hogs, Zombies, and 350 chevys.
An added benefit is you can use .38 special rounds in it to get used to it, and for target practice. This way it costs less to shoot, can get confident and accurate with it much faster. Then you can shoot it with the different .357 mag rounds with it for hunting or home protection, without wasting a bunch of money. Revolvers are awesome anyway, no nonsense home protection, look classic, and a breeze to clean. I'm not going to recommend a brand, but you shouldn't have to pay a ton for one of these. Pick a few up at the gun store and see which one fits your hand the best. I do recommend one that has ports in the top front of the barrel, it makes a difference in muzzle jump.

Yeah, what he said.

For ammo, go on YouTube, search for Corbon Pow'rball, watch the video, that might help you pick out your carry ammo.

Back to Zombies.. Get a big Zombie bashing bumper... Then after you smear a couple meat bags your shiny stuff will be all covered up in carnage camo. You'll even smell like them too! Problem solved, no need to paint!
