the xd-40 looks like a glock 27 with a taller slide, my reciever is OD green i love it. if i were u i'd buy a .40, 45's are just a bit to expensive to shoot, the BEST .40cal on the market hands down is any glock, if u wanna go full size id get a glock 22, if u want compact get a glock 23, or sub compact go glock 27

The .45 platform is my favorite though. I like the lower pressure round and the history behind the big bore. And I personally don't like the look or safety function of the glock.

Not to get a war started by why would you want such a slow moving round? Of course I know the stopping power behind the 45 but I think the best caliber out there, next to the 12 ga. for the ZA, is the .357 SIG. Which safety function(s) are you referring to when talking about the glock, there are three, and yea I'm kinda partial to them but we all have our own taste.

Clint Smith at Thunder Ranch said to me that there are two pistol rounds that will continue to be made when all hell breaks loose, cause they are used by our military: 9mm and .45. That's why I carry a .45 and my wife a 9mm. Can't stop zombies without ammo.

Well mainly because a handgun is close range. Nobody can dodge bullets so velocity is in-essential. And the 4 10 shotgun round is alot lighter to carry than a 12. Though a twelve is tried and true. For the glock I don't like that the only safety is in the trigger. Which basically means there's no safety. I like pistols that can be carried cocked and locked. Sig, FNH, does the H&K do it also?

Check out a Kimber my pro carry is built to carry cocked and locked it has a grip safety a safety that locks the slide and an internal safety that if both aren't released it won't fire I can post pics if you want to see

I saw it. If it's the one you just posted. Kimber seems to make some raw ass guns. Except alot of people have problems with continuous misfires or jams or something on the series II guns. It's all covered under their awesome lifetime warranty. But who want to have to send their gun in.
