Can someone explain power lines use?

So I hear all about wheeling on power lines and all that. My question is how do you go about this, who do you go to for permission, what states, etc. Basically the run-down.

Some are owned by the power companies others are private and the power companies have an easment. Best to check before you go.

On wide open public land, use them. On private property, ask the land owner.

Lol, alright. I just now saw there were responses to my question. Well first off thanks. Secondly, so I should just ask the power lines companies for permission or what? alot of them are on mountains, and I assume someone owns the land but hard to tell who.

Where i live in central P.A. They are OFF LIMITS. The land owner owns the land and the power company owns the power lines and has a right of way. We have a large run of power lines across our land and they give us a hard time about what we do on it. Good luck with trying to find a Company that is going to let you wheel on there property. Most of the issue i think is they are afraid they are going to get sued and second is they have alot of money opening the property up and the lines and stuff.

Our power lines in florida cut through neighborhoods. Theres houses next to them, but not under them, there are trails and have been there for years. Theres always cops around. So i dont have a definite answer, but we do anyway.

Same here. I really haven't seen cops out there (knock on wood). We used to go out there till 3 in the morning and have bonfires. It's when people start dumping like crazy, they don't lie that.

bumping is against forum rules, did you know that?

haha anyways, I have no idea. I would ask the land owners. if you gota go through someones yard or private property to get there, then its a bad idea. otherwise call the company up and ask. the worst they can do is cuss you out.
