Places to ride in Sierra Vista

I'm new to Sierra Vista and I am looking for some good places to ride. Nothing too extreme! I'm from Alabama, so I'm not really familiar with this terrain!

Well, I used to visit there a couple of times a year, my parents used to live there. I would go onto the fort, can't spell the name, so not even going to try. They have a couple of trails that go through some canyons, which are pretty easy trails.

I used to live in Sierra Vista when i was in middle school, cnat tell you too much about places to wheel there as i didnt have a jeep then. What i can tell you is by the subdivisions out by the mall me and my buddies had a motocross track out to the east, but i doubt it is still there seeing as that was five years ago. Altough if memory serves correct the were some fire trails or somthing like that around Fort Jhachuca, i also remeber seeing quite a few jeeps around town also.

Sierra Vista, as in Sierra Vista, Arizona?

Eeeee...... One place I wish to forget. But, good luck in finding some trails....Take a ride up to Mount Lemmon or Sonoita. Very scenic.

ps....Welcome to the forum!

It has been quite a few years since I have been four wheeling there. But I spent alot of time doing it in my younger years.

Used to be you could go to Tombstone from Sierra Vista, take Charleston Rd. When you get past the bridge over the wash start looking on either side of the road for BLM land (open gates without no tresspassing signs). You may find some before the bridge, I don't remember if that was all closed off or not.

Ft. Huachuca may be a trick to go onto after 9/11. I don't know. If you can get on there and go into the canyons you will find tank trails and fire breaks you can have fun on, ranging from moderate to difficult as you get higher in the mountains.

Any of the canyons south on 92 and off 90 (east and south of SV) have good potential as well.

North and East of Tombstone is good also.

Basicilly AZ is a prime off road state. I envy you!!!

Hey man, I am also new to SV and from the great state of Alabama. If you ever want to get out and explore I am down to tag along in my TJ. I don't really know of any spots except for St. David in the river bed. Let me know.
