anywhere to wheel or even miled trails in south eastern pa that anyone knows of? I live in lancaster area, and about 3 dirt roads is all i can find... oh, and my yard when its muddy haha i know theres rausch creek but thats a bit of a drive and expensive.
Im in Waynesboro near chambersburg. T-Berry opens here soon near south mountain PA. It also connects to Rattle Snake which is all public free trails. Not hard core trails but do vear off to mud bogs and moderate rock crawling!
What exactly is "T -Berry" and does Rattlesnake Mountain allow for jeeps? i check a website briefly and I thought it said mountain bikes only? Or maybe i'm looking at the wrong place
Other side of waynesboro, pa 17268. Just on the other side of Michinox State Forest or how ever you spell it. They just opened up 2 more logging trails.
oh yea, i forgot a place i ride dirtbike that is open to off roading from what I can tell. Treverton, PA, its above rausch creek, lots of mud, hills and trails, its just a heck of a haul with not much around.
I find I interesting that folks spends hundreds and thousands of dollars on their rigs, but think $45 for a weekend of four wheeling is expensive . . .to each their own I guess.
thats why i dont spend thousands... because i dont have it... to go drive around and wheel should be free imo, expecially since things get broke that cost money... so thats even more to spend.
U better stay locked in the house with the shades drawn hiding under the bed. u might need to buy a bazooka just incase u have to THINK about driving by there on 95. O my got i bet your wetting your pants just thinking about it.
There is a place in limrick by the powerplan. Im geussing they let people wheel in there because theres no no trespassing signs and they dont gate off the entreance to the place and cops know we go back there. Maby we can meet up and roll out there sometime. Its nothing really hardcore big mudbog. apparentley my friends thing my jeep is overkill for it.
You have to be careful at this place. Stock will probabley get you through most of it but there are a lot of spots to get stuck in. If you want ill PM you my number and we can run up there with my buddy's sometime. You never want to go to this place alone. If you get stuck theres no getting out without a winch or another truck.
the airport isnt bad. theres the place by the tunnel and then u can go down the road further past fort mifflin and theres another spot. and if u keep folowin the train tracks theres a beach u can drive on to... i live litterally 30 seconds away from it in tinicum which part of it is in tinicum... and i wouldnt really worry bout the cops me and my buddy never had any problems... if u guys wanna make a trip to go to the airport pm me and we'll get the ball rolling. i dont wnna do anything till next month anyways(gotta get tires.) So just PM me to make some plans.

Hey i'm in West Chester and looking to find some nice trails, you guys mention the airport a few tims, How do you get to where the trails are at the airport? Have you guys discovered anything new in our area?
Ive been down behind the airport several times and its pretty fun to go and explore as long as theres no dirt bikers or quads in your way. I cant remember exactly where it is but i know you have to go down 291 and make a sketchy U-Turn at some point. A day after it rains is defiantly the best time to go. It can get pretty damn muddy and the water can get pretty deep at some parts. Its a really good place to get used to wheeling if you've never done it before. Last time i went was when my 98 XJ was running good with a 2.5" lift with 32" tires and I had no problem with anything. Most of my friends go to treverton, Pa now. im actually missing out on a wheeling trip this weekend cause i am currently jeepless :banghead:
theres not much in the area.. all the places i know just got shutdown/blocked off. but theres always the airport if its still open. pm me if u wana go look for spots or go wheeling im always looking for jeeps that go wheeling around here.i just need some time to get my jeep back up and running.
New to offroading and really excited to get into it. If anyone has some novice runs or time to mentor a bit let me know. I want to get out to the Rattlesnake/Tberry place soon as it seem to be the only place near me.
i'd like to know where this limerick one is... I'm in kop right now and that's i think only like 20 minutes. also i'd be down for a run to the airport... i could do after work, tue and fri. or all day monday or sunday.
Look up rausch creek on you tube. I have been there years ago to ride my dirt bike. I guess now they have an awsome off road set up for jeeps and other off roaders.

Agreed!! They'll spend a hundred or so at an amusement park, or 50 on date nite at the movies, and a burger,, or thousands going on a cruise... But $45 to go wheelin?? Heaven forbid!! But, most think I'm a wack job for spending all that gas money for our trips to Moab, the Rockies, and to our friends way up north. (Gaspe' peninsula ) I'll take wheelin, camping and hiking, any time,, over man made amusements..
Rauch is only like an hour and a half from lancaster pa.. Enjoy guys. It's the best place in the north east to go offroading and you don't have to travel 5+ hours to get there
