NOLA Motorsports just opened Red Creek on the Westbank. It's not always open to full sized vehicles (usually ATVs), so call ahead.

The park didn't open up to full sized vehicles until about a year ago. Still lots of ATVs though. Sicily Island is bad ass and no membership required either.

Sicily Island is a small town about 4 hours north of BR. The park is called Catahoula Off Road. Go with friends...You'll get stuck eventually if you do anything remotely challenging.

I'm not familiar with Hidden Oaks. Hit me up next time you go. That seems like a decent day trip option if its only an hour away. Im off thursdays and sundays now.

Glad I found this thread. I'm in New Orleans and wondering where I'll be able to take my JK off road when I get it. This will be my first 4x4, so I'm not looking to scratch my new paint yet or get in over my head. Any place with dirt roads within an hour drive would do for starters.

Does anybody know if the Bonne Carre spillway is open just to vehicles? Also, has anybody been to the annual Jeep Jamboree in St. Francisville?

I haven't been to St Francisville but any jeep jamboree will give you a few scratches and minor damage.

I've heard conflicting things about Bonne Carre but you can go to Red Creek and have fun without damage.

I'd go to tower trax if it's open to vehicles. Doesn't look like it though.

I live next to the bonnet Carre spillway in Norco! we went mud ridin in my buddies jeep lastnight and busted his radiator pulling out his bros 95 6" lifted gmc sierra. it's not officially open to vehicles to go mud riding but my friends so it all that time, there are some spots you can ride an her muddy without scratching the paint but I don't know of to many places around here. I read up on that jeep ride, I would go but it cost $205 per adult to go ride so I'm gonna pass. also if you have a Facebook go check out my group called Jeeplife.

Thanks cmaggi2 - I think I'll hold off on a jamboree for now then. I tried googling Red Creek and it looks like the one on the Westbank closed a few months ago. Looks like the same company has one in Mississippi though. Is that the one you're talking about?

Wow - thanks for the quick responses. The Sicily Island place looks good but is a bit far from me. The Red Creek in MS might actually be closer. Tower Trax looks good and is close, but I agree it looks like it's only for ATV's from their website. Glad to hear you can get into the spillway - I may try that first & just make sure I don't get into any serious mud my first time out.

Would like to hear more about Hidden Oaks. I see a campground by that name in Robert, but no mention of off-roading on their website.

I see the same thing as cmaggi2 on the Jeeplife FB group. Only thing I see is a closed group. If that's the one that's yours, how do I join?

I agree Sicily is pretty far from us. the spillway you can just ride up an down the main roads an get alittle muddy after it rained like yesterday instead of goin down trails and scratching your jeep up! I go camping at hidden oaks all the time and there is no off roading there at all. you should be able to click join group somewhere on the page. not exactly sure bud. but if y'all have anymore problems go add me on Facebook and I can personally add you. Matt Raiford, profile pick is of me an my friends in the spillway on the tailgate of a truck
