I'm in the same boat as you. Check out the Texas forums below Texas Jeep Forum - Jeep Wrangler Forum as I found a few threads on there talking about places to go, and people seem to post up outings fairly often.
Thought I'd resurect this one. The only trails I'm aware of is Down south offroad park in Crosby. I sure wish I could find something further south. I'm about halfway between Houston and Galveston.
I grew up in Pearland and have been back there a few times. I haven't been able to find out if you have to worry about the law or not. I heard the land has new owners and won't hassle people anymore but thats just heresay.
Went to the website. Looks fun, but that whole 2-3 hour drive out there kinda makes it more than a day trip. You might see me out there this summer though
Although not much, you could always head to Galveston and drive in the sand... I'm in Cypress area and not too much around here within short range, but I'm always willing to take a drive out and combine it with a camping trip. Last expedition was a weeklong trip to Big Bend. Fabulous, beautiful, huge park with plenty of easy off-roading. Could always head up to the Austin area as well.
I want to so bad!!! My Jeep has only touched pavement and I want some trails really bad. Hidden Falls was mentioned earlier in the thread in Austin, but I don't know if they have lower experienced trails.
I am in the Jersey village area for the summer so If anyone wants a trail buddy, my rig has been clean for too long. Send me a PM and we can meet up somewhere. Also, anyone know any goo Jeep clubs in the Northwest Houston area?
Check Houston Jeep People. They have a website and have meetings here and now. You could probably pick up some guys to trail with from there plus meet some friendly neighbors.
I thought I'd resurrect this thread again. So I'm in League City as well and feel the need to have a little off road action. What's everyone found or been up too lately???
I've been to General Sam's before. It's alright but it had a little too much mud for me. One thing about General Sam's is it kinda has a little bit of everything except rocks.
Hidden Falls is supposed to be one of the best but that's way over outside of Austin.
I'm over on the northeast side of Houston by Crosby. I've been out to down south and place in splendora. Down south has a little too much deep holes for me. Splendora wasn't too bad still little to much mud for me.
It will be next year First Saturday of January(and every other month) located at Vintage Park. Search Houston Jeep Meet on Google and check the page. I recommend just signing in through Facebook and then you can see all the events planned.
Yea I hear y'all on the mud issue. I have been to xtreme and Creekside and while I had fun, would like more than just a mud hole. LOL that is why I bought a cheap used Big Red 3 wheeler...to rump in the mud and not kill my jeep.
Would like to check out Marble Falls or something...
Honestly if we could coordinate a group to go for a weekend, I'm game. Never been there but I have been dying to.
However, I have some parts that need replacing and may not be available for some time
