NICE! I just replaced my factory ones this weekend as well... but with the regular factory replacements. I like the Big Ole Bushwackers... or are those Rugged Ridge?

Thanks - billy_YJ - I got this set from ebay they are made by TAG. They look just like the other pocket flares just without the textured finish. - Bill

So I go 2 check all the fluids in Scrappie yesterday after replacing the power steering gearbox(was leaking you can see in old pics!) and found the tranny very low on fluid - so I serviced the tranny. Then moved on 2 the transfer case - it was empty and the guy I bought it from said he had "just rebuilt it" - Well - to make a long story shorter - it is AFU!! it will not shift into 4wd at all and pukes fluid out of the tail shaft seal - I posted about this in the YJ section yesterday. After much deliberation I believe I will buy a used transfer case - keep mine and rebuild it and maybe do some upgrades - Just another one of those unexpected pains in the booty!! - but everything else is running and working pretty good - except the speedo doesn't work still, the washer motor isn't working and I need 2 fix the emergency brake - - - well at least the end is in sight!!.... :>}

So I go 2day 2 get a front end alignment done just 2 find out I have many more issues than I was told about by the P.O. - Both hub/bearings are shot lower left ball joint is actually bent at the stud. I was told it would cost @ $800 if they did the work - and that was just 2 change the hubs and 1 lower ball joint!!...:>} I guess I will have a front end build 2 post now - I will update what it costs me as I go - See ya - Bill

Today I finally got my front end straightened out and it took alot of work. So if youve been following this thread u know my Jeep had Death wobble and Death wonder it was crazy. I thought it was wheel balance and alignment but it was much more. I ended up replacing both hub/bearing assemblies all upper and lower ball joints also sway bar bushings and axle u-joints. I also had to replace hardware and tighten up a bunch of crappy work done by the former owner that installed a 2.5 lift. The tie rod ends were still in good shape. The track bar is still installed. Today I took my Jeep with all its new parts in for wheel alignment and rotate balance. On my way 2 the shop with all the wind 2day I was ALL over the place - but - the wind was crazy to the point of blowing my half doors like 2 inched out from my door. Well after the alignment,rotate,balance I found 1 of my rims on the front was bent. That rim was balanced and moved 2 the back for now. The ride home was WONDERFUL!! no shakes, no wonder, goes strait down the road - BEST ride in my Jeep yet!!! See Ya, Bill

I'm back!!..;>}

Been awhile cuz I couldnt get pics to load - but I think I got things figured out. first there is a pic of some the old crappy parts I replaced on the front end - I ended up changing everything!!! All ball joints - both hub/bearing assy's, both u-joints, stabilizer bushings - I am prolly 4getting somthing. Then I have several shots of the back brakes. I had 2 change everything there 2!!!!! I've included some close ups in case someone needs 2 see how they go 2gether - I also replaced ALL the parking brake cables cuz they were all locked up tight - I cant believe this thing stopped at all!!! anyway - - the brakes now work top notch and its on 2 bigger and messier projects - next up is my leaking rear main seal - and then I will finally tackle the transfer case and 4WD system!!! Of course there calling 4 6 - 10 inches of snow 2morrow - guess I'll have 2 stick 2 having fun on the 4wheeler - and working on Ol'Scrappie in the garage
See Ya - Bill

Speedometer

So - tonight I got home and figured I would take a little time 2 see if I could figure out my speedometer issue. Since I got Ol'Scrappie Ive never had a speedo or odometer. I changed out the speedo sensor and the old one had completely ripped up teeth on it so I was just sure that would fix it - - nope -then I bought a speedo cluster from the junk yard - - nope - then I found some fuses I thought might cause the problem - - - nope - - Well tonight with the help of this forum I figured it out. I read all the threads I could find about speedos and I went 2 what seems 2 be the most common area 2 check the sending unit!! I did meter checks 4 power( White wire with black tracer) 4 ground(black wire with red tracer) and the last wire(blue) should have continuity to pin 13 on the speedo plug on the dash cluster. All checked out good - so I did the only thing I hadn't done up 2 that point and thats re-adjusted the sending unit. There are 3 possible spots the thing can b bolted down at. Of course I never did this b4 cuz I ASSumed the last guy had it in the right place and I just reassembled it the way I took it out - - -WRONG!!! I adjusted it and the speedo works!!! The totally amazing thing is that this also fixed an issue I had with low idle at stop signs AND the really amazing thing is the Jeep now shifts great!!! I dont know how this all happened but I am very happy!!! Its been a good day 4 Ol'Scrappie!!! See Ya! - Bill

Read the whole thread, great job there Bill. I've got about the same thing I'm about to get back started on, I have a '94 that went under water during Hurricane Katrina. The body is in good shape except for thee floor pans, and I have a half jeep donor with a engine/tranny/wiring/etc.......
Got most of the front cap off and all the dash out, but want to take it down al the way to the frame and clean and coat it good. About in the same situation as you, moneywise!!!! Hope to do the same as you and post a thread when I really get started.
Great Job again
