i knew i wanted a 9k+ winch because im going to put some more armor on so i wanted something stronger than an 8k but i was not sure what kind. i chanced on this thread

Engo Winch Sale - 9K Winch for only $289 with Free Shipping

which has a link to a winch shootout and engo really did amazing. it came down to engo 10k or Qtech 9k and i decided on the engo because its been tested in the field, and i have friends running them and i have heard nothing but positive feedback from them so i decided i would give Chris a call, and first off hes great, he knows exactly what hes talking about and hes incredibly knowledgeable. i also bought my spartan locker from him and he gave me a very good deal on it. let me get the winch on, use it once or twice, then i can give you a testimony of my own. unfortunately i will probably have my locker by the time i get the winch on so im not sure how often I'm going to get stuck...

I'm really excited to use it. I will hopefully be concluding my spare tire carrier build soon and then i will start wheeling a lot more often. i went with the spartan over the Aussie because the Aussies take longer to ship and like i said, Chris gave me a great deal

got to the shop, finnished getting the jerry cans on, and sleeves. now all it needs its some grinding, sanding, and paint! pics...

then for attaching we decided we could bungie them done by bending washers in half so out came the bfh and this is the end result...

then we welded the sleves for the pins on so it wouldnt rattle

end result is this... this one has the 33, the others have the 31. i still havent gotten a full sized spare... its on the list of things to do, like a recovery strap, and gas...

these have the 31

now i just need to go ahead and grind the imperfections out, fill in any holes, sand it down, prime it, paint it, and clear coat it and it will be on. unfortunately im going on vacation from august 3-13 so that probably wont happen until i get back

okay so my winch plate is on back order, so i will probably be ordering a new one next Monday. (Monday is pay day so that's usually when i buy stuff)

on the bright side it looks like the locker is going in Saturday morning beginning promptly at 9am. pics will be kept decently updated best i can. unfortunately i cant wheel it until i get back from Massachusetts... thatch means i will probably have the winch plate however which is good
