Back at the shop. I had two timing chain covers in the beginning. Put the first on and accidently shot the crank key behind the timing cover. So I took it off and back on using the second basket. Got the vibration damper on. And then noticed I forgot to put the oil sling in. So now I'm taking it apart and putting a third gasket in. An $11.23 mistake.
Oops wrong forum lol... I finished up all the main wiring on the motor.. gonna take a break for tonight and ill pick up the distributor tomorrow... then all I have to do is install that, prime the oil pump, and put the battery and start her up
Hey bro maybe if you would get your ass out of bed and stop sleeping your days away you would know that your brothers got your jeep running today maybe you should get up and come out here and work on the rest of this thing so I can paint it this synergy green you keep ranting and raving about..
So after days of trying to get it to start I finally got it started... this is my first time having to set up a distributor and Tue manual said have the rotor pointing towards the number one spark plug when seated.. finally found in a forum that I should seat it with the rotor slightly past the number one plug so I went with that and it started right up and sounds great..
Now I'm off to finishmaster to get trim black to finish up the trim pieces...buying new battery terminals, probably getting a new top from 4 wheel parts, and getting back and getting it all on
Sorry I haven't updated this thread in a while.. I'm having trouble setting the distributor to get the timing right and also there is a knock after warm-up coming from where the tranny joins the motor.. I can only hear it in neutral with the clutch engaged and disengaged and it goes away when I put it in gear and start going .. hopefully I cam fix it soon
