A Really Crazy Idea

Do any of you know the dimensions of a soft top for the unlimited? This is my first summer without my wrangler with a soft top. I was thinking sawzall and an unlimited top for my cherokee.

I thought it was funny.

I have thick skin.

I would never spend that kind of loot on such a crazy idea anyway. I was just sittin around thinking that I won't be able to take my top off all summer and was lookin for some crazy idea to appease me.

Looks like this guy used roof racks and the tonneau from a small truck.

You could always buy one of these:

Unless you are going to beef up the subframe I would hesitate to cut into an XJ like that for fear of long term damage. Being a unibody makes the entire vehicle become a structural point.

I meant you can get those cheap as in low cost, not much $$, easy on the green backs. As in if you get one you will solve your top down issue for a small amount of money.

Well, yes and no. I sold it because my mom and dad were in bad health, and I needed to be able to take some quick trips to Alabama to check on them. The wrangler was just beating me to death on that drive, noisy, drafty, and my back would always bother me for a day or two after the trip.

I loved my wrangler, but the cherokee is a much better heep for highway driving. I sold the 95 wrangler and bought the 99 cherokee for about even money. A bud bought the wrangler for fun transportation to the lake house, so like I said, I still see it around and get to ride in it occasionally.

These cherokees are pretty capable off road and I am enjoying playing with a new toy.

Oh, and I love the 4.0!
