I bought a 1997 Jeep Wrangler Sport without air conditioning. Even with the windows down in the summer, the extreme heat plus the vinyl seats are just brutal (sometimes I have to pack an extra shirt depending on where I am going). Is it possible, and if it is, how much would it cost to add an air conditioning unit to my Jeep?
It is possible, there were several aftermarket companies that made Wrangler A/C kits. These are not do it yourself though. I worked for a company that installed these when the cars were new back in the day. What part of the country are you in? I might be able to find someone in your area who could do it. I would say you would be looking at $1200 to $1500, but I have been away from that business for over ten years.
