airraid cold air intake

I got a 95 wrangler with 2.5 4 cyl motor I've been trying to get a little extra power out of. I just installed airraid cold air intake and throttle body spacer and honestly can't believe how much it opened it up. For a couple hundred bucks it was worth it. Now I think I need to get the exhaust redone from the header back and it should be fine for a 4 banger. Does anyone know if any power is gained by taking off the catalytic converter and if it will make the check engine light come on. Thanks for any help

This is good to hear. I just bought a cold air intake for my 4 banger and was worried it wouldn't help much. Where did you get your throttle body spacer?

Not sure about removing the cat. I believe there's a sensor connected to it that if removed could trigger the service engine light and not allow to pass smog...not 100% on your model though.

Ive been told by my friends that it helps there gas mileage and add hp when they take it off but you have to be careful when you get your car inspected and if you add a hole where the o2 sensor is supposed to go i dnt think you would have a problem

Mine is the straight 6 it has 2 up front and one in the rear by the transfer case. I removed the one by the t-case and had no problems with any engine lights! There are no oxygen sensors around that cat! I cut my muffler out and the cat and dumped it between t-case and rear axle. Sound pretty damn good! I was very surprised!
