Any LSX swaps using the FAST LSXRT intake?

Ran into a problem when assembling my motor. The intake I bought off eBay that was listed as a Trailblazer SS intake is in fact a late model truck intake which is identical in appearance but is for the l92 rectangular port heads.... So it doesn't fit..

So i went ahead and shelled out the money for a FAST LSXRT intake. From what I've read I'm re using the square fuel rails and ly6 injectors the intake came with by using FAST's install adapters.

I wanted to know if anyone was already running this intake and if they had any pics. My only concern now is possible hood clearance issues but I'm not too worried about it. I imagine it still is lower than the Ripp inter cooler I had on my 4.0.

Here's some motor porn and the intake I ordered.

Plan is to paint it satin black similar to pic 3.

I always wanted that intake for my truck they look so sweet, but could never bring myself to buying it. I wouldn't think you would have clearance problems, Its about the same height as a truck intake isn't it? Great looking motor btw

I have the car intake for my one truck, I personally wouldn't use that intake on a wrangler swap its ment for more topend power then it is lowend

Thanks for the input but the LSXRT is specifically designed for trucks so there's no loss in low end power with the longer/straighter runners. It also outflows all the FAST car intakes in the higher rpm's. From all the articles I've read on corvette forum trailblazer ss and performance truck it's a solid performer and does better than the lsxr 102 model. Only problem is clearance for the car models.

It should be here Tuesday and I'll have it installed by the end of the week. Hopefully I'll have it dyno tuned before thanksgiving and post up some numbers.

After looking at some pics of my Ripp set up and the LSXRT I'm pretty sure I've got plenty of room.

There doesn't appear to be more than a couple inches difference in the stock truck intake and the LSXRT.

reading what the maker states and actual dyno tests prove different.

the truck fast doesn't fit as well as it supposed there was many issues with them

for a jeep that intake has no part on it, a jeep needs grunt not topend power. I have the GMT900 intake on my jeep and ive tested other intakes for the LS motors over the yrs. From fast 78, fast 90, fast 92, fast 102 and ported versions. Along with other cast aluminum intakes out there. I wouldn't buy the fast truck intake for a performance vehicle but its your money

I understand where you're coming from regarding manufacturer claims which is why I've read plenty of threads on the intake.

Here's a link to a 5.3
http://www.autotraderclassics.com/ca...ke-75465.xhtml

And the dyno

Either way I'm sure with even a factory intake on a cammed forged and bored 6.0 I'll have a smile on my face. But since I was originally sent the wrong intake and had the money to upgrade, why not.

I did read about fitment issues but apparently that was a few years back with the first run of the LSXRT intakes.

Looks like I'll be a first and will update with dyno numbers when I'm done.

And it's in with no fitment issues and plenty of good clearance.

Getting close, wrapping up the wiring and finishing touches. Should be in for a dyno tune either Saturday next week. Then I'll get the a/c lines ran and system charged.

I just put that intake on my 13' silverado noticeable low end improvement but could have done better with the almost 1k spent imo. Considering the weight I'm sure you'll be more than happy with the low end.

I hope so... Just can't wait for it to be on the road. Was hoping for this weekend but that doesn't look like it's going to happen. True test of one's patience.

Well ran into some issues with the PCM I initially purchased and took a while to get a second one.

My jeep is now at SNL Performance in Haslet... Top notch guys, they fabbed up the air intake pipe. It's routed and functional with my River Raider snorkel. I have the adapter filter that I got from Ripp Superchargers that will replace the top cap and has it's own cap that surrounds/protects it.

Anyways, here's a few pics of how it's looking now. Should be getting tuned by James of Calibrated by Karger tomorrow so I'll have some numbers.

Very pleased with how this has come together. Patience is something I don't have but it's been worth it.

Just an update. Tuning is done and got my dyno results. Transmission is a 4l80e with Transgo hd2, stock converter, 4.88 gears, 35" MT's on 16x10 Black Rock 952D's. Motor is a forged internal 6.0 with 9.75 compression mahle pistons 317 stock heads with Texas speed rods and new ls6 springs LS6 cam Sanderson LS swap headers, hi flow cat and custom 3" stainless exhaust from the header collectors on back. Stock fuel pump/lq9 injectors. Per the tuner/performance shop my biggest restriction are the Sanderson headers. Once it's all adjusted and I put some miles in it I'll be back for the recommended custom headers with 1.75 primaries and 3" collectors. They did note that past 5500rpm the motor starts to lean out so I'm looking at upgrading to Delphi 8.1 marine 42lb injectors. Just not sure of the stock 06 pump will be able to maintain the 58psi required. It's dodging great now with the 29lb injectors. Click image for larger version

Thanks and I appreciate it. I'll have some new numbers here in the next few days. Found out the injectors I got with my used intake were for a 5.3 and couldn't keep up with my motors appetite/cam. Had to upgrade the jeeps fuel system. Went with FAST 46lbs (stockers were 23lbs) and a walbro 255 high pressure. I could safely drive it, but what's the point of not making use of the full potential. Oh and I upgraded to a set of ported PRC Stage 2.5 LS6 heads.... Going to bump that compression up to around 11:1 and let it breath better... Should see some good gains.
