How do you get to the spare tire latch with the tire on?

Lexani wheels on any jeep will never look right, too bad this jeep will probably never see a trail.

Interesting build. Ill have to wait and see it when its done. IMO you should've put some Walker Evans Beadlocks on instead of Lexani wheels. That's like giving Bear Grylls stilettos.

If it did see a good trail, I'm guessing the lexani wheels would fail.

It will see trails. More than some stock jeeps! It's built for it.

If you are really going for that "g-wagon look", you need a much better battery support, you definitely need better battery terminals and you need to clean that wiring up.

The key to a nice SEMA build is really in the details. Otherwise you blend in with every other bolt on vehicle there.

Here is a friend of mine, John Roberts:

Wheels are about quality. You are basing your opinion on what?
Lexani wheels meet the HIGHEST quality standards and the ones on the J. Wagen are much stronger wheels than those stamped steel wheels some "offroaders" have.

Everyone please post pictures of your Lexani wheels that failed in offroad situations!

Don't make me bust out my engineering toolbox!

That battery install is sweet. Very very nice. I will take your advice. The install we were showing was mainly for functionality.
Since that time we actually have cleaned up the wiring. Thanks to Scosche!!!

You just slide your hand around the rear side of the tire/wheel when it is mounted on the rear. There is enough room to unlatch it.

Yeah agreed. It's his Jeep and he can do what he wants with it. And personally I find this build original and I can't wait to see the finished product. Keep it up!

More Sparks Flying

Thanks for everyone's responses. It was a busy weekend and it's a busy week on the build.

BTW GUYS ... I'm a "she" (and a very fine one I might add....lol)...not a guy... Growing up I always wanted a jeep... dreamed of it.... and NOW I have one... I love this thing.

I am truly making it mine; incidentally, it is going to also be chuck FULL of new technology. I love what Jeep's stand for and what they are built to do and I am not altering those facets of my Jeep. I love trail riding (it's already done that)... it's been full of dirt top to bottom... The suspension is ONLY getting better. Just because it will be a little "dressed up" with the wheels doesn't mean it won't perform!

The new OX electric diffs and covers will go on this week! Air suspension is scheduled this week as well. Heavy duty REEL driveshaft is in up front (and only up front) because the electric motor is in the rear and has it's own setup.

The pics:
MBRP safari cage is in but needs some slight mods to fit the build. They didn't have a kit for a 2011
Hood is underway. and to final body and detail: We took the stock hood and a hint from the ICONIC 7 slot Jeep grille and came up with an agressive AND purposeful hood concept. We added 7 NACA DUCTS to get cool air into the RIPP supercharged engine compartment and 2 side vents in the front quarters enables us to get the heat out.

The bump shifter should be completed this week. In the picture you see the two heavy duty cables that were slotted through the bottom of the floor pan. This feature is goint to be very cool. We are designing it's operation since there is no kit for a Jeep.

In the meantime the stereo boxes are under construction and it is headed to paint by Friday. I can't wait. Not revealing paint scheme...

More pics on the FB build page.....

Rigid Industries Light Bar bracket

We decided to fabricate our own light bracket to place our Rigid Industries 16,000 lumens LED light bar. It now firmly sits between the cage and the top of the front windshield body line. Looks great!

Mine does. And they have it moddified to run on the old tailgate hinges, so I assume it probably sticks out slightly more. If not, how the hell did they get it out for the pics?

Anyways, I really like this build, for the sole reason its original. We all push the "build it the way YOU want it" factor, but then as soon as it goes against the grain everyone gets pissy. Build whatever you want, its your life, your money, etc. We just get to sit back and watch. Now if you ask for advise, we will give it, but last I checked this was a build thread and it looks to me that you have been doing alright yourself. Keep up the good work.

I am so confused. Why did you do this to a perfectly good jeep? I'm sorry but you should have gotten something else and let your jeep go home with someone who wouldn't mistreat it. Are you doing all the mods to it or are you paying someone to make it look horrible?

See post 52&53, you ignorant fool. Learn to read a thread before you comment on it.

Might want to glance at these for once in your life. See that line in bold?

I love Jeeps. It's like taking a classic car and putting in a Vintage Air system. A 39 Ford never had air, but if you want it built with air for your enjoyment and pleasure it doesn't devalue the car. I just want to see Chrysler step up and make one that's not only capable and tough enough to take on the great outdoors but has the luxury and sophistication for a night on the town. Nothing wrong with that.
