AWESOME Jeep JK build

Well, I brought home my baby (2011 Jeep JK Sahara) last November (2010) and then the concept to build it into a badass Jeep was born. My build has begun and I have dedicated a facebook page to what I am calling the "J.Wägen" (you can search it out under that name on facebook).

I am a new Jeep owner and NOW I cannot ever imagine life without my jeep. Yep... It's a jeep thing.

+1 for non-facebooking...
"pics or it didn't happen" ....

You could build up the narrative/gallery here and post the link on FB...

I was excited. There is a few JK builds I have seen that were really awesome. Breaking the mold on the stereo type. Sadly this one isn't. Cool build though, make it yours!

Is that really an electric motor, or was that sarcasm?

Cool project. Have fun doing it man!...Looks like you already are. I wish I had a bad arse shop to do my projects in!

Clear things up

Ok...I have not conveyed this build very well. It's true that we have a lot of "bolt-on" items. Some things are just that way...wheels...tires, shocks, driveshaft’s, etc. However.... I just want to let everyone know that EVERY single panel is being modified on this thing. It is under HEAVY fab and lot's of sparks are flying!

As far as the electric motor. Yep, it's real! No sarcasm whatsoever. It will be adding 150 ft/lbs of torque before the rear along with the power coming from the Ripp supercharger is sure to make all 4 wheels spin on the pavement. Instant rpm from a standstill. As a side benefit my city driving fuel economy will improve substantially.

I will be posting pictures regularly of the modifications that have already been made I'm just drawing it out a little bit for suspense.

The philosophy is that it's better to customize the OEM equipment rather than buy a bolt on replacement. The idea is to take the Jeep ruggedness and iconic status as an off-road vehicle and add the luxury and sophistication of the Mercedes G-Wagen.

It's like playing in the mud with a Tuxedo!

I'm including a sneak peek....

Non-Bolt-On-Items

Some of the thinsg that are being added are not available for the Jeep. We are making it fit!

Custom Fuel Tank - We are fabing it.
Dual Fuel doors - 1 each side from a Ford Superduty. -- 1 door is for "amps"
Dual Optima Batteries under the hood (where the original batteries sat)
14" Big Brake kit from SSBC - not made for a Jeep JK
Master shift bump shift system - not made for Jeep JK
Ride Tech air suspension - No kit for Jeep JK

There's more... I'll keep posting pictures as it moves along!

The unveiling will happen at the 2011 SEMA show Nov.1st in Las Vegas.
Booth 36175.

Still not for me sounds like a SEMA show queen. now if you were building a Stock Mod JK then i would be giving you props

this is a bad ass JK

my final though on it. Jeeps are not meant to be polished and refined they are supposed to be brutes, angry and tough as nails.

Optima Dual Battery Install

There used to be 1 OEM battery here. We managed to get 2 Yellow Top Optimas in here! 1200 watts of power

I like the crawler. Nice.

Well...lol... I have to treat it with a "little" bit of caution for my sponsors' sake for at least 1 year... can't risk anything too technical. Poor J.Wagen has to sit on the sidelines for "some" of the games.

Custom Tailgate and Tire Carrier

OK...so more fab happening on the build. We had to attach the hinges to the inner structure of tailgate in order to make the flip-down tailgate and then we utilzed the original tailgate swingout hinges for the tire carrier. It's definitely robust! Ready to hold my Toyo M/T Tires and Lexani wheels!

thanks for the photos, will be watching for updates.

Like the tail gate changes with the separate tire carrier too.

Mods to door handles

We wanted to change the door handles on the Jeep to the "G-Wagen styled" which is a lower profile door handle. We also wanted the J.Wägen handles to be in line with the soon-to-be added "G-Wagen styled" side moulding. This required us to lower the handles on each side 1 3/8" from the stock position. We also had to chop the inside mechanism to account for the drop! Extra pics on Facebook. If you dig the build please "like" it. Thanks to everyone who is sending feedback, emails and comments!
