Axle welding do's/dont's

Going to get my jk front 44 some c gussets and a truss. I can weld but I don't have any axle experience.
What do I need to be aware of while welding on my axle?
Also what recommends do you have for parts?

Thanks!

Do you have a stick or a mig welder?

I've chopped and welded many axles. Everything will be fine...I would disconnect the negative side of the battery on the vehicle first. Otherwise, just your regular welding (whatever process you are choosing).

If you're TIG'n, I'd clean up (lightly grind) really well due to the casting imperfections. I've had it pop on me a few times in the past.
