Saint Patrick Starfish

Picked up this 🐖 in a polk.

1977 Cherokee Chief S

Bought it off of Craigslist...knew it was to good to be true... Got there...2.5 hours away.....to this specimen, no driveshafts no key bill of sale only...

And I bought it anyway...at a reduced bargain price...why? Because I had already had a tow truck lined up....and a 🐦 in had is worth two in the bush.......

So I get home....fresh battery....bridge The starter...it spins...I hear a slight tink.....I spin it again.....quite a thunk....and.................oil on the ground.....rod straight through the oil pan.....

But hey I can swap the tires onto the Goose...um...no another lugtool.....which brings me here.....

Anyone know how to get these little bastards off without a torch?

Keeping the wife happy

So fellas...when the wife gets upset...you park it in the front yard for sale for double what its worth....

This does two things....
1. She can't say anything because there is effort being made to "get rid of it".
2. Really ticks here off that it's "in front of the house", but....(see number 1)....

Winning!

Goose got rubber!

Old, bald, dryrotted, rubber...but she rolled off of the perches she's been on since Christmas...so there is that.

Got the starter off to take to the rebuild shop......

So I spent about 2 hrs today on the S Chief. Was able to get the rear window glass rolled down only to have to take a cutoff wheel to the hinges that were rustwelded froze. Its in these small tasks that take hours that we can claim our victories.

This IS the worst thing I've ever drug home!

I laid in mouse shit all afternoon, but I ended up getting a few things done.

Pulled seats...
Pulled carpets...
Swept out mouse shit...
Began removing motor, everything is free and clear, unbolted, cut, detached...

Would have had that nasty 360 on the ground, but our cherry picker blew a seal.....again.

So sick of having to fix things before I can fix things.

Notice the huge pile of mouse nest infront of the passenger side...

Chief S

Now we rebuild!

Got the motor out...a 93 cent O-ring fixed the cherry picker....

Ran a tank of gas through my pressure washer while blasting grease, grim, mold, mildew, and mouse shit out of the Jeep...

So now, All Ye Lurkers, give me some feed back...it ain't hard to reply to this post.....

What color???

Flat white?
Olive drab?
Khaki/desert tan?

Keep in mind it will have a canvas duck top...

Here is some feedback.... I think you have lost your mind! I cant tell what you're building anymore and what you're just taking pictures of at this point. Listen, I'm sure you've heard this from your wife. But you might want to reel it back in a little bit.

I'd go with a blue..

Rich- the wife has given up trying to talk any sense into me......

I've got too many irons in the fire for sure...I'm consolidating an selling quite a few parts....the new and revised, and hopefully a little more thought thru, plan is to build the Chief S, well get it back to a semi-reliable driver.

I get a little out there from time to time....both in my Jeep projects and in life...so you're right...I have to reign it in...

Yeah. It's the frame side ones(in blue) or the whole frame
