Big Luvin's....the ultimate tow rig and support vehicle build

As allot of members know, I have a truck lurking in the background that I have been working on over the last few years. In fact, had it not been for the Eagle build, it would have been done by now. Regardless, its getting ready to be on the front burner again so I thought it needed its own thread. I haven't been the best at taking pics up until this point but now that I am used to snapping as I go it will come easier. Timeframe? Hell I dunno on this one as I have already had it for 11 years.

Here's the build sheet (ever changing)

1968 Ford F350 crewcab 2 wheel drive long bed 10K GVWR
1979 Ford Dana 60 front axle with radius arms and Firestone Air bags
1994 Dana 80 rear axle with low air leaf Peterbuilt suspension
Compound turbo (maybe 3) 6bt Cummins
7 speed spicer tranny
Divorced 205 transfer case

Here's where I found her, dormant since 1977

The rear seat area in the back sucks bad so I decided to cut the floor out and put one out of a 2005 F350 in it.

Since that worked out, I bought a near perfect set of king ranch seats

We also lowered the floor 3 inchs from where the factory one was to get me more head room which required all new body mounts and filler plates on the inside.

The rear frame has been stretched 3 feet to allow for fuel tank mounting. I got hooked up with the pete stuff for the rearend and all I had to buy was a new set of bags.

Decided on bags for the front over the coils because I was afraid the coils would collapse over time.

The crossmember from hell. Took me and Big D 29 hours to get it from start to finish.

Lill bling bling....custom 19.5x8.75 Ricksons

This the last thing I did before starting the jeep project.....my super industrial motor mounts. I have seen far too many conversion mounts give up or shack the bajeezus out of the whole rig. These should be there forever....

I know your using a Cummins, but I've seen two different engines in the pics. What will the final decision be? 12v or 24v?

Oh Ok. First pic I saw had the 6 covers on it then on down I thought I saw a pic with a one piece cover on it. My bad!
12v will be best, easy to work on and easy to upgrade and make tons of usable power.

Yeah it had a polished cover over all 6 when I got it but I sold that on ebay. My buddy is on his second 12v project and he's the guinea pig for what I am gonna do to mine. I want as much power as I can get, but be able to use it. I have no interest in 900 horse if it can only drive around and not pull anything. I want 500 horse and hold it flat on the floor going up Mt Eagle with 20K on the trailer

With twins that is easy. And it will keep your EGT's down and manageable.
Can't wait.
