Body lift

M Putin a 3 inch body lift on my wrangler, does any one kno if I just use the bottom stock bushings with the new blocks?

Please do yourself a favor and don't do a 3" body lift get some coil spacers for like $100 instead.

Actually a one inch body lift is acceptable for tummy tucks, mml's, etc, but over that is ugly and unsafe. dont do it!

Oh please don't put a 3" body lift on your jeep. I'd rather see some poor little stock jeep than see a jacked up jeep with the body floating pointlessly above the frame.

NO body lift

Don't do it it's a trick.Just drive around looking like grampows jeep till you can get a good lift.

Alot of you are good at spitting back information incorrectly

A 3 inch body lift will leave you with alot of space between the frame and tub, a high COG with no extra spring droop or flex, and alot of extra work to do that lift. Even a 2 inch BL is often too high and causes the same issues. Anything 1.25 or lower is generally accepted as a good sized BL and will give you the best of both worlds. Now that I gave you your (unwanted) BL information, I will answer your question.

I hear what everyone is sayin I don't want to do a body lift, just wana get some bigger tires under, I have a set of 33" n can't afford the suspension lift yet,

1.25 BL and 2 inch BB will get you going for around 300 bucks.

BB is a spacer put above the springs of a wrangler, usually accompanied by new shocks of proper length. It gives you "taller springs" without actually getting taller springs.

Take a few seconds to fill out your "Jeep profile" it is under the "User CP" at the top left. That way people will know what year you got and can get you some better advice! What year Jeep you got?

Well I assumed you had a TJ. With a YJ you can do a shackle lift and an add a leaf in addition to your body lift, with new shocks. same basic game. might be a little cheaper.

You still need to consider other issues, like brake lines, e-brake, electrical wiring, dropped pitman arm... It's very difficult to lift a jeep a little at a time, it's more of an "all in" type thing.
The reason everyone is telling you not to do a body lift is because you gain no mechanical advantage (you actually lose some by raising your center of gravity). You also diminish the function of your roll bar, because it would be floating on 3" of body lift instead of the solid frame.
What engine, tranny, & gears are you running? If you throw 33"s on there just because they fit, your jeep could be significantly underpowered.
Just some things to consider. I've been there, wanting my CJ to be done already, but doing it right the first time is the way to go.

Body lifts allow for more height, while not running into the issues caused by larger suspension lifts. They also allow for mods such as TT, gas tank rising, etc. Makes it easier to get into the spaces above the frame too, haha.

Brake lines will be fine with the amount of lift he is talking. Same with electrical. Same with hit stock pitman arm.

Track bars (or brackets/ new holes-which are more of a bandaid but work non the less) are something you may want to look into going to 2 or 33 inches of lift.

There is really little else. If you were to go another inch you would however run into more problems, two inches more and your in the deep water.

Not saying CJ7 is wrong, he is right in every way, but there is alot less to worry about with a smaller lift like you are talking.
