I put 1 in the back of my jeep because the shocks come up through the back now and the bench didnt fit.I used a pre teen seat from PRP its 3" shorter front to back and height wise because of head and leg room and its always one of my kids back there any way.

A pair of fronts won't fit unless you jack them up above the wheel wells. Then you're above the factory bars and a new set of problems.

Yea, I saw a pic of factory buckets installed in the back, the passengers were looking at the rollbar, I'd say it could be done if you found some junk yard low buckets out of a ??

I was wondering about not having any side support and passengers sliding out of them, and the room is so small back there they will probably touch in the middle anyway, making it a bench seat with a seam in it now.

Thinking out loud here my wifes explorer has a 2nd row that is 40/20/40 split, and they are all separate mounted (not attached to each other) I wonder if you could us the 40/20 portion...something like that would be low backed, and able to recline.

When the kids are older and it strictly mine to play in and not haul kids in I planned on mounting a single seat in the center (like a silverado's drivers seat, it has built in armrest and seat belt) so I could mount big 40mm grenade ammo cans as storage "pods" on each side

You could also use a bucket bench for a rhino or some thing.Thats about the only way cuz its only like 36" between the wheel well and the smallest single buckets are 19" or 20".

If you can find them, old school muscle car/hot rod buckets should fit. They are made for small butts and they are usually half height so they could fit in place of the bench.

something like this...

I've had co-workers decide to skip lunch when they realized I was driving! Something about "I'm to old to be climbing back there"
