OKay so a buddy and I are going to build a rear bumper for my jeep in shops class. We are going to weld a 2" receiver in the middle. We are also going to add some shackle mounts. I'm curious as to how to reinforce these? Welding is not an issue neither are tools. Should I use mounts like these found on quadratec? http://www.quadratec.com/products/12066_900.htm this will not be a tow rig, the receiver will be for a winch and the shackles will be recovery points. I appreciate everyone and anyone's input on this matter as I want this bumper to be as safe and sturdy as possible, and not to disrupt the structural integrity of the frame of my jeep. Thanks

Going for this look.

I have a DIY bumper from Rokmen. The reciever went through the bumper and was welded front and rear. The shackle mounts were the same. Have been working for many years and even towed with the bumper.

I understand how to weld a reciever front and rear, but not the shackles. How do you go about cutting the bumper to weld them in the rear?
