Default chevy 3500/ jk transformer

not exactly, this started life as a 2000 3500 hd 2wd gmc. now after removing about 6 1/2 feet from the frame and tossing the dually axle. then throwing in some 63 inch long rear gm leafs and 56 inch long rear leafs up front. and a d60 front and d70hd rear and a propane 454 and i still need the adpters to install the 4l80e and np205. and it got some new 42 inch iroks and black steel wheels that will have beadlocks installed. my plan now with the cab is tomove the column over and cut the width i need for a jk width body is to cut off what i dont need off each side and the from front grille to back corner is to skin it with 1/8 inch steel. and cut in the door openings and wheel openings and build flares off that. i now have a jk hood and grille. it will have 4 door openings just like a unlimited. i must miss my old jk unlimited pretty bad.:dontknow2: i started this project months ago but couldnt get much done since i only had 1 double car garage, but since i moved i have 2 double cars. so now i can really get rolling. heres some pics to start .

it will be completly torn down when done and the frame and axles will be painted black and evrything else will be painted or cleaned.

no mud truck, just a duner/trail ride for the family. it was buy a rhino or build this. as far as weight goes, i dont think it will be that bad. its alot less weight than a big block normally has to push.

your seeing the unboxed area, where a jeep is boxed. i know it will be heavier but not much more. its 486 horse and 512 lb of torque with 12.1 pistons to handle the propane. the only real reason for the high horsepower engine is for the dunes. no mud, i hate mud.

well i decided to move the front axle forward another 3 inches and redrill the rear axle spring pad and top plate centering pin 2.5 inches forward so it would set the axle back 2.5 inches. my wheelbase will now be 109.5.
still need to box in the front bumper, but heres pics anyway.

I'm confused, how is it a jeep? If I was to weld a jeep hood and grill to a Yugo would that be a jeep too?

yes it would be a jeep, are you kidding. i did put chevy 3500/jk transformer becuase i am aware of the fact i didnt buy this as a new jk. but when its done and im sitting in it will it feel like im driving a jeep yes. like most modded jeeps, mostly older models that have swapped axles, motor, trans and t-case extended wheelbase. with all those swapped in chevy parts and having just a factory body and dash and mostly gm parts is it now a chevy. no its what the owner would like to call it. a yugo is a really stupid thing to say and when its done if it makes you happy to say its not really a jeep, go ahead.

ide call it a jeep would like to see a mopar powerplant in it but as long as you still know a jeep lookes better than anything gm could put out thats enough for me. its an awsome vehical and if you like it, obviously or why would you build it, than thats all that should matter.

ya i'm on board, i wouldn't build it, but as long as it doesn't look like a farmer put a jeep on a truck it will be a crazy lookin/drivin jeep. it looks like there's skill going into it, and i'm gonna keep watchin it.

good luck man

I think as long as any joe off the street walks by and says nice jeep or i love your jeep.....Its a jeep. The key is the unmistakable grill of a jeep.
I too am subscribed. Looking good man.

"Now, this is really quite simple ,ok? Understeer works like this: you drive down the road , turn the wheel, but the car goes straight on, crashes into a tree and you die. OVERsteer works like this: you drive down the same bit of road, turn the wheel, but the back of the car comes round like this, and you go off the road, crash into a tree and you die. Now, oversteer is best, because you don't see the tree that kills you."
