Nice build, looks real good. D-ring shackles look a little small though. But then again you still have tow hooks on there too.

yeah the d-ring shackles are pretty small but my brother had them and was willing to give them to me for free, so I figured since I would probably just use the tow hooks anyways, i'd save 30 dollars on d-rings. I put regular sized ones on the back bumper we built to match

We only used 1/8th " thick steel, I know it's not thick but you can jump up and down on it and it holds strong, plus we wanted to go kindve thin since we have to do the bends by hand for it. And we were actually thinking about making them to order, if anyone is interested.

Looks good. I'm building one myself. Does it set back farther then the stock bumper?
Mine is deeper then stock, so I'm gonna have to notch it so the shackles fit.

I can't tell if you boxed it in or not...did you? Also how did you attach it to the frame...bolt or weld? If you bolted it did you use the 1/8th" plate steel for your mounts also? Finally when you attached your D Ring tabs did you use pass thru welds? Just curious cause I'm finishing up my rear bumper, and am going start on a front bumper next.

BTW It looks really nice.

matching newbie back bumper

This is the back bumper (bad iPhone pics, I know) but I figured I would get them on here..I know it looks like a lot of empty space but I was planning on wrapping the back corners in treadplate and putting flush-mount LEDs where the original brake/turn signal lights were and then putting some flush mount back-up lights in the back bumper to occupy some of that empty space..

The spare tire is a bumper in itself incase any trucks or Jeeps hit me...and heaven forbid if a car hits me beneath the spare...and it doesnt bounce around, we built a little plate that you bolt on the tailgate (or whatever you'd like to call it) where the original stock tire carrier bolted on and we have a spring-loaded pull pin that goes into the mount plate..we also reinforced underneath on the inside of the bumper where the swing-away part is
