D!ckHard front bumper - in the works!

For my birthday, OBM picked up the materials for my new front bumper.
He got started yesterday and has been up in the shop all day cutting, grinding and banging on things.

I'd show you more, but it's a super secret DickHard R&D project, and if I let you see more, I'd prolly have to kill you.

OBM's name.... is Dick.
One of the first projects he made for my rig was a RockHard clone tire carrier.

Thus DickHard
we thought it was funny, but not NEARLY as funny as it is now with the new slogan!
"DickHard - Viagra for Jeeps!"

OH! and my birthday was on the 8th, thanks for the nice wishes though!

I would think with that name, you'd make the stinger a bit more, um turgid.

Yea, the stinger and hoop came under serious consideration yesterday afternoon after the "photo shoot"

We bought them from a club member ahd had not actually set them up on the front of the Jeep until then, and when I looked at the photos I realized that there are issues. So it won't be at all like that when finished, that setup is going on the for sale block.

OBM says:

He's stick welding that? Now I'm even more impressed! I haven't seen anyone use a stick welder in time out of mind.

LMAO!
He's OLD SCHOOL! Hell, he's just OLD!!

He has a wire welder I bought him a while back for some holiday or another. I don't know if he is going to stick it or wire it, any way he goes, it will be good. He's actually quite the craftsman. I'm a picky PITA and I like his work.

Looks good!! My dad is an old Skool Millright and I learned to stick weld and cut with oxy/ setl. torch before I could ride a bike.

That 1" thick plate is probably close to being strong enough to pick up the entire jeep!! I don't think you'll have any worries about them shearing, maybe just bending the frame! Is he running like a 1/2" fillet on the weld??

I think so Jr.!
He's up there doing the "finish" work on it now, then we will take it to the tube bender to have it fitted with a stinger.

Not yet!
He's up there working like a wild man!
I did manage to sneek a few more pictures even though he said "no more until it's finished"

He laughed and said, "Look baby, I made you a car splitter!"

Very nice! I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product.
I am working on a rear bumper right now but nothing as fancy as yours is
I had to buy my shackle mounts from cncoffroad here in WI but the rest will be fabricated from things I saved from the scrapheap off job sites. I guess being a pack rat has helped this time.

Gonna put a quick, light coat of paint on it to protect it until we can get it to the tubing guy, then strip it all down and do the right finish on it.

Hot damn!!
