DIY rock sliders/steps

I just got done fabricating my own rock sliders/ steps. I liked the look of just the bars but I have two small children that love to go in the jeep. I was concerened about them getting there feet stuck or slipping so I added some expanded metal for stepping. I finished them with dupli color truck bed coating.

Looks good, any reason you didnt put a break in the steel so it covers the edge of the tub?

Thank you. Yes there is no break only because the guy I bought the jeep off of have me the two steel plates for the jeep. They were only painted so I figured I'd add the tubes to it. That's the only reason. I did weld 2 nice plates on each and I welded them to the body frame underneath not the frame itself. Lol

Ooooo! I like the "grate" idea! I was thinking black diamond plate for mine, but the grate would allow mud and water to fall through. Nice!
Get that stuff at Home Depot?
