Fabbed up a front TJ bumper

Since I straightened out my frame, raising it up about 3" when it exits under the front grill...and narrowed a total of 4", I couldn't reuse my hanson enterprises front bumper. So...I decided to build a new one;

...and here's what I can't decide on; a grill hoop

Nice job

How about a winch guard tube instead of a grill hoop? (since you're asking and all)

wow. good work. I need to get out of the builders section...or I'll end up with a welder in my garage.

Looks great. I like the grill hoop, but think you should add a winch guard/stinger to it

Makes me want to become a welder. That is some clean welding there. Post some pics when it's all done and painted. Nice job......real nice.

Thanks for the input guys, I appreciate it.

Well, here's what I decided to do;

Took the grill off, welded the hoop directly to the frame...and the grill will mount around it. Basically, I skinned the grill, and the grill hoop will be hidden behind the grill. Radiator, steering cooler, grill, all mount to the hoop.

Even got the hood latch back on to the hoop so that functions still;

Here's a shot with everything in place. I still may do a small winch guard bar...

The headlights I had to scrap, will get some PIAA 520's to mount inside the headlight openings, attached to tabs welded to the hoop. I still have some work to do, but I got a ton done this weekend. Ill update with more pics as they come.

Now that's a clever idea mounting the hoop behind the grill like that!

Alright...more updates. Got the radiator, steering reservoir, headlights, and grill all mounted back on the hoop:

I think I may paint the headlight rings black, they seem to stand out like crazy...

wow, that is awesome. it's like a "sleeper" bumper. it looks pretty bad ass on the surface and then you look under the hood at the grille, and BOOM! it goes from bad ass to super bad ass!!
