| fire extenguisher straps and passenger straps
hi,,
i allways wanted a fire extinguisher in my jeep but didnt know where to put it withouth someone stepping on it or taking extra room so i made two plastic straps that hold it up out of the way.. and yeah i can still see throught the rear view mirror perfectly.
also for the passenger i made the grips that are really handy and i didnt have to order the ones online.
looky looky :

Could you do a write-up on your items???

cool deal just make sure you can take it down super fast. seconds matter when putting out a fire. I had to use mine a couple times now and this is where i have mine mounted.
I have a typical wall mount for the extinguisher, and i zip tied the wall mount to my roll cage. had it like this for years and its never moved. fast access too. |

ya, doesn't seem likes its easy to take down. whenever i mount a fire extinguisher in a jeep, i simply use the wall mount, as its designed to bolt to a wall or a poll. and i just use large diameter hose clamps to hold the mount to the roll bar, then the extinguisher can be quick released using the original mount.

I like my F/E to be available immediately. Even before I unbuckle the seat belt.
You can barely see it, but it's on the tub floor between the rocker & the driver's seat. I used the plastic mounting bracket, that came with it.
Also my 3D Maglight is within easy reach, mounted to the seat riser using Maglight mounts.

Fist time was for a stuck superduty in the sand. his trans over heated and the brainiacs at ford designed the vent tube to spew hot trans fluid on the even hotter exhaust. at it caught fire and we put it out.
Second time was for a zr2 that had a trans line pop off his cooler and it caught fire.
I need to get mine recharged after that.

Mine is mounted to the transmission hump on the floor (passanger side).
Almost had to use it once. A friend was trail welding my motor mounts back on and the plastic inner fender used to keep mud out caught fire. I was scrambling to get to my fire extinguisher and I freaked out because I couldn't get to it fast enough. Fortunately my other friend had a Mountain Dew and put the flames out. ha. I still owe him a soda.
I think I'll mount a couple. One on either side of the jeep like in that door sill area that buckshot mentioned and another in the back somewhere.
