ford8.8 broke cross pin

I just picked up an 8.8 today but the cross pin retaining bolt is broken off and I don't have the end of the bolt. What I want to do is find a bolt that fits and drill a hole in it to use as a drill guide. My problem is I don't know the thread size does anyone know what size bolt will fit it?

The cross pin retainer has 5/16 threads. and the threads are only about an inch long from the head of the bolt down, the rest is just smooth pin.
