Front Bumper Build

Liked the look of the original HighRock TJ bumper, but couldn't afford one, so I made my own with a few differences. Had a buddy burn the Jeep into the center piece and then bent it. Spent a few hours with scissors, cardboard and duct tape mocking it up. Wish i would have taken some in progress pics...

It is big, but it will soon have a winch and a grill guard. Makes a good bench seat for now...LOL

I'm thinking the grill guard will kind of act/look like a stinger, but will probably just support a set of long range lights and stop a deer from finding its way onto my hood...

Is there anyway you could send me some blueprints or drawings of the bumper?

I made this piecemeal, using some measurements from the Jeep and a winch mount plate. I laid out the center section and brought it to my buddies fab shop where he plasma cut the Jeep logo and bent it as I had marked it on the brake. For the sides, I cut out cardboard pieces until I got it where I liked it. Then I transfered the shapes to steel and cut them out. Sorry, don't have blueprints.

Built a rear bumper from a piece of 2X6 and a few pieces from the hardware store. Going to add a few things this weekend.

I am About to begin building my bumper and I was wondering what is the best thickness to make it out of! I have a 4 cylinder and I don't want to put to much weight in it!!

Dang! Do I show up where you work and start making your products from scratch? I'm trying to make a living here!

Just kidding. Looks nicely made.

In fact, I'm curious. Did you keep track of costs? Would it be massively impolite to ask how much it cost you to build that front and rear (especially rear, actually)? I know it's rude, but we were talking about this at work. Basically, how cheap would a rear bumper need to be before it persuaded guys like you to not build them. (obviously not just cheap, but well built too....). Send me a PM.

Yeah that looks pretty amazing, I'm curious as well as to what your cost worst and time put in. I'd love to get one for myself, it's beautiful!

Front Bumper - 6 hours, 12 pack for me, case for my buddy...., had most of the materials laying around or donated...., costs that I can think of ~65.00. Bulk of cost was self etching primer and truck box liner paint (and beer but I guess that doesn't really count).

Rear bumper - 2"X6"X5' $32.00. Receiver hitch from Northern Industrial ~$15.00, and used the rest of the primer/paint from front bumper, some scraps for frame mounts and ~$5.00 for hardware. Going to weld on the new 3/4" D Ring mounts on Sunday. 2 hours of labor and an hour of painting.

Awesome bumpers. I LOVE the "jeep" burned into the front. You have quite a talent.
