Kinda a novice with the mechanical side of building but looking to get into it alot. How would I find my gear ratio and also what specific axle I have?

As far as checking your gear ratios go, the easiest way Ive found to check them is to jack one side of your Jeep up, put a line somewhere on your diff housing and driveshaft yoke input with a piece of chalk, put another mark at the top most point of your tire. Now have a friend count how many times the driveshaft spins while you slowly turn the tire two full revolutions. For example, if you turn the tire twice, and the shaft turns 4 full revs and stops at the 2 o'clock on a clock face, you have a 4.11 ratio. Hope you can make sense of this haha. You should probably be able to find some how to videos on Youtube or something to if your stuck. Good luck!

Well we know you have a Dana 30 front . And most likely you have a Dana 35 rear. I'm sorry to say. If you are lucky and it's a long shot you have a Dana 44 rear.

Thanks!

I had the underbody of my jeep redone after a wreck and the guy who worked on it said he knows for a fact he put a d44 rear and he thought he put a 44 up front as well. Possible?
