Got tired of my tailgate closing on me...

... so I made one of these I must admit this is not an original design, but this is my interpretation of someone else's design. Some days I have more time than money.




Worked out rather well IMO. I made it out of some 1/2 scrap 6061-T6 Aluminum that I had laying around the shop. Took a couple hours on the manual mill to spit it out. All in all, I have $1.29 invested in the project, and that was for the sheet metal screws.

mine is soo rusted around the hinges I have to pull it really hard to get it open.
