Has anyone moved rear bumper forward on JK

As the Title asks, Has anyone bobbed the frame right at the rear body mounts, thus removing the cross-member and then moved the rear bumper forward, making the bumper serve as the cross-member. I am thinking about doing this unless someone has some negative experience can post the problems that arose.
I am thinking this would give a considerably better departure angle, and be less prone to hanging up on rocks.
Thanks in advance for any and all responses.

JRC Dagger Tire Carrier Bumper has you remove the crossmember, what I'm running. No drawbacks.
