Help!

Okay so my yj squeaked when you started it and the lights would dim so I thought it was the alternator so I toke it off ad got it tested and it tested fine so I got a new belt and went to put the alternator back on it and one of the wires come off the harness and sparked of the frame well I got it all hooked back up and went to start and it won't start unless you pump the gas and keep it idling and as soon as you let off the gas it dies well tried to drive it and just spits and sputters can't figure out what it is any help?

I know this is probly not connected but my YJ had the same kind of issue and I had a bad map sensor once and a bad throttle position sensor, either one will make them run like crap

My 95 YJ with a 4 cylinder would occasionally squeak and dim the lights. Adjusting a belt tensioner fixed it. Might not help, but it might.
I don't see how a belt problem could cause it to run badly, but I'm more experienced in diesel engines.
