Can a mod change a thread name? If so I no longer need help. Just my 8.8 swap.

Ok so you asked for more pics, you got it. Tonight I damn near got it all done minus missing some bolts I gotta pick up tomorrow. I got the e brakes installed and adj, new seals, axels cleaned and put back in, rotors on calipers cleaned and on (half ass) diff closed up, and started shading it down for sone paint. Will be finishing tomorrow and ready for install on Sunday.

Picked up my flange bolts today. These were the last piece to the puzzle I was stressing about finding locally instead of having to order them. 

Got a lot of work done today! Got that shotty d35 out. Put in 8.8 got correct measurements and driveshaft angle. Tack welded everything. Pulled it back out, welded it up solid. Then I finally quit for the night. Will be finished on Tuesday after brake lines are ran and I figure out a way to rig up my e brake cable since I'm too cheap to spend the $120 on the correct one. Will update again on tuesday. And sorry about the pics too busy to be worried about that. Lol

It's actually off the axel, just not the jeep. Those bolts were a bitch! So they got left there for the night.

So, what did your pinion angle end up being?

Lol. I doubt I do a 5.0 honestly. I do too much climbing and rock crawling for a carburetor to be stalling or cutting out on me. Probably just gear mine right and rebuild tue ole 2.5

And as far as the pinion angle, we got it right back to the stock angle didn't do a degree check honestly but we did bolt everything up set it on the ground and fully suspended the suspension to check it and it was all good. Then tacked everything up, pulled it out and welded it solid. Be putting it back in for goooooood tomorrow.

So you must be running a standard drive shaft. I'm gonna use the double cardan so that changes things. I'm a little concerned with oil getting to the pinion bearing with it stuck up at about 15 degrees.

It's hard to pass up a nice 302 my father in law has everything I need and said he could put me in it for $500, but the whole thing with the carb kinda sets me away from it.

if you don't drive it on the road, you could always get the 302 and put it on propane. then you wouldn't have to worry about steep angels or anything.

It's only a play toy not my DD. But I do like it in the weekends. And if I went the propane route I'd rather put that money towards a diesel.

EFI wiring isnt a big deal if you have the right stuff. I have done lots of EFI conversions for people (duncan included). The best thing to do for the cash is go to speedway in st louis and pick up an explorer 302 for 400 bucks...it will have the better heads and intake than any other stock 302.

Might be something to consider after I'm done with this axel and locker in the front. Thanks and if I do go EFI, I will probably be calling on your help as I've never done that and my father in law which is my assistant and coach in mechanical things is color blind. Lol
