How to hy-steer a dana 60 non-flat top knucle

ok so i have a 1993 hp ford dana 60 front end, and i came to an issue of the knucles. i need to do a hy steer set up but everyone has them for king pin or flat top knucles. and mine are not flat top.


so here is my ????

can they be machined down or can i swap out the knucles for ones that are flat top???

Yeah but your gonna have to send the knuckle off and have it machined. Ive never done one, but I only buy KP ones. Have a look over on pirate4x4.com, I swear there is a guy with a 97 truck with high steer on it.

ok ill check them out. yea when i got the diffs, my reserch only came up with ball joint or king pin front ends, and now i find out about flat and non flat top.

ah the joy of building a jeep.

The other problem your gonna have if you havent seen it yet is that your pin width is way longer on the 85-97 60 fronts...by about 4 inches or so. That's why everyone opts for the 78-9 frontends because they are close enough to line up. Otherwise your gonna have to either do some major suspension mods (ie coilover, air shocks, coils) or your gonna have to outboard the leafs to make um work.

yea i knew that going into it. its just the steering thats killing me. i think i might just sell it and find the 78-9 front, make life easy. on another note, when you did your soa did u use a sye?

On my personal ones, I use a 205 or atlas case rather than the weak 231 On all the others with the 231 I keep the slip shaft but upgrade it to 1350 joints. I dont believe in CV shafts.
