I also made some doors.

Cut the fabric off a set of Bestop soft doors and welded on some 11 gauge chrome moly plate. These are pretty much bullet proof.

They're at the powdercoaters now, will take finished pics when they get back.

The Bestop soft doors have latches with them, 4 bolts and they're installed.
They will rattle a bit till I put some weather stripping in, but that's no big deal.

GASP! Destroyer! We work hard to put that fabric on those doors, you know.

Just kidding. Your doors look great.

I said this somewhere else, too, but just in case: Bestop sells the paddle latches separately. Call 800-845-3567. We sell a lot of these to people building their own doors, and a whole bunch to small shops that build doors for resell.

Thanks, Couldn't have done it without Bestop!

- Ok, well, I could have, but it would have been a PITA. My soft doors were pretty trashed, my jeep gets tired sometimes on the trail and just lays down on it's side, which tends to not be too nice to the canvas doors.

I bet if you wrapped the striker with some foam tape or even electrical tape they won't rattle so much...... Doors look great! Excellent job!

Wish it were that easy, I purposly warped the frames when welding them so they have a little bow to them to keep them tight in the striker, the bottom corners are the farthest point from an attachment so they flex with the wind. If I were to do it again I would probably make some tube doors, that way there would be no flex.

It's no big deal realy, I don't have a top for my jeep so it's not like I can hear it when I'm rollin anyhow.

Yup, my bestop doors (cloth still attached) rattled a bit - but it was easily solved with a bit of electrical tape.
