Just a simple girl with a passion for jeeps. Soon to be college graduate with a degree in criminal justice. Always wanted a jeep, bought my first jeep in August 2010. I knew absolutely nothing about jeeps. Like, nothing. I gotta say I am pretty impressed with where I am now.

Jeep: 1997 2.5 jeep wrangler. Stock with the exception of wheels and aftermarket radio. 97,000 miles. $4500 dollars later it's all mine.

First is the day I got her home. My dad had to drive it home because it was a standard and I had no idea how to even drive it. Man that was awful watching my dad drive my jeep home after handing over MY cash :banghead:

Still have a long way to go and some projects in the process!

Some updated pics but its constantly changing. Two bottom pics is the jeep the day i got it and the other one is back when I had 33s

Current Set up:
4" skyjacker lift]
35" Dick cepek radial tires
15" D window wheels
Stinger, tire carrier
CAI
magnaflow muffler
upgraded speakers and head unit
smittybilt seat covers (hate)
DDM head lights with hella housings

Current projects and soon mods:
Yj full doors and yj hardtop
flat front fenders
full rear corner guards with flare
round led tailights

I feel guilty, jeep has been on the backburner last few weeks while I worked on my truck. But the jeep has to pass inspection this month so I'll definitely be getting the flush tailights in since my stock ones are all messed up

heres my truck and my skis!

the jeep is finally getting more love this weekend. I havent had a rear shock in months due to a bolt snapping off in the tub..its time to get that sucker out and get that shock back on there. And gonna patch the small spot on the back of the frame, theres a tiny brittle hole that i dont want to get worse. And i finally found another dick cepek FC-II tire. I bought 3 almost brand new and had a very worn down one. So now i finally have 4 almost full tread tires. Apparently DC stopped making the FC II tire..making the only one i could find on ebay. Hope i dont get any flats soon:rofl:

Great thread

You're gonna want to be careful with those axles, though...that d35 is basically a time bomb with those 35's on there. Your steering is going to fail as well so just keep an eye out.

I know first hand on both accounts with my 2.5L

My d35 started leaking diff fluid the day i got my 35's and my steering setup was so worn it couldnt be adjusted any more. Also started to leak PS fluid after a short time with the 35's.

I read a lot about it before buying the 35s. Took in a lot of information. I figured though that if I ran them, and an axle broke, ok i'll just upgrade. I was on a much tighter budget when i bought them so the thought of buying a stronger axle before mine broke kinda killed me. I read so many people saying its going to blow up the week you put those 35s on, or your jeep is going to move slower than a turtle on the road...well, its been over a year with my 35s and my jeep has been my DD before I got my truck a few months ago but even now my jeep is still drove to work and everywhere else probably 3-4 times a week. I haven't had an issue. The thing still gets me everywhere and i didnt notice much of a speed difference between the 35s and 33s..not enough to tell others that your jeep is going to be unbearably slow.

I understand where you and others are coming from, I do. The 35 certainly is not a strong enough axle to know it isnt going to break, but i'm still taking my chances here. The only work i recall having to do to any suspension or steering since i moved to 35s was my control arm ripping off the front axle but that was due to death wobble from a loose cam bolt that the alignment shop never tightened enough. My PS was leaking before my 35s and thats all fixed now. Of course down the road i'd love to have an 8.8 in the rear or something stronger. but for now, i never worry my jeep is going to leave me stuck

Gearing up for summer...bought a full cab cover to throw on the jeep overnight with the doors and top off. Not that I care about rain or branches, its really to just stop some spiders from making webs in my door sill and having to hunt the down every morning. I park under a huge tree in my driveway so lots of spiders drop and I hateee spiders. Also bought mirrors to fit in my door hinges. After 4 years I've never used them but I suppose its time.

Next big purchase is gonna be a complete ford 8.8 with 4.56 gears for 1200 shipped to my door. Just don't want to do it until I'm ready to have the time to put it in. My bumper from motobilt is being built this week. Then gotta finally get a winch on there. I have way more cash now for the jeep than I ever have.

So excited to say I finally pulled the trigger on an axle. I'm going to have a local shop build the axle. I don't weld so that kinda makes it impossible to build the axle on my own lol plus I don't have a garage right now. Anyway, officially went with a 8.8 using the Arctec truss kit with 4.88s. Next is a 305..haha maybe..

few things. r My pup helped me replace the water pump and finally solved my overheating at red light issues. Put a bedtred in the front and love it so I'm gonna order the back soon. Perfect fit and it makes it look clean. Also picked up the tread cover for the center console because my poor dog always slips off it when driving. Got my overhead console in.

Well my project for the night was going to be rock lights using LED strips until i realized how much more expensive they are at walmart so I ordered them online instead. But i came home with a new headunit lol. I got spoiled when i put the stereo in the truck with bluetooth so i bought when so i can use pandora with no aux cord. Plus its amazing what different headunits can do for speakers because now my music is much louder. But i didnt realize you cant change the colors on this one so now its blue and i wanted red..OCD i guess lol

Oh and the best part of replacing the stereo was I found a random set of wires that I KNEW had to go somewhere..and my heater hasnt been working besides coming out of the dash so I crossed my fingers and pulled out my havoc part of the console and bam there was the home of the cable. For the first time after two full new england winters, I have heat coming out of anywhere I want. Kind of silly i never checked back there but every time I looked it up on JF people said theres a vacuum leak under the hood so ive been looking for a cracked line every time i open the hood..win win today
