JK Hinges

Ok. I just brought home my new JK and I was looking at prices to replace certain parts on my jeep from jeep color (dune) to black. New parts are extremely pricey so I was wondering if anybody out there has removed these and painted them yourself, and how did you go about it.

id recommend powder coat. its much more durable. just take off your doors. undo the hinges and drop them off with your local coater. shouldnt be much more than $35 a set if you wanted a standard black

A LOT of people are Plasti-dipping their hinges. Goes on easy and is removable if you ever get tired of it!

plastidip is nice if you want to take it off, but its not very durable. thats the big downside. its something you are going to be replacing every year. cant take it through a carwash either it gets ripped off. its a good way to see if you really do want them a different color though

It's my understanding that it is surprisingly durable... And let me guess, looking at your nickname... You're a powder-coater?!
